Northeastern Direct-Entry NP

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi,

Years ago I met with the director of this program and really loved it. Over the past 2+ years I've been doing the prereqs and volunteering at a hospital. It began to go to the backburner because I felt an accel BSN would be a better choice. Well now that I am ready to apply :yeah: I can't get this program out of my head as being the top choice. SO I'm aiming on the GRE's for Sept to apply for their deadline. Just wanted to see if any students could provide some input on their experience there, and post graduation. I had a NP a few years ago at Harvard Vanguard in Copley who was a graduate and said such great things. I also can see that only Northeastern students get these intern positions at MGH (I'm sure there are internships open to all as well, but I see just Northeastern ones- I'm an employee at Partners). This makes me think they have an advantage... anywho, any feedback would be sooo greatly appreciated!!:redbeathe

Thanks!

For the people that were expected to the hybrid program... How soon after you submitted your application did you hear back?

Admissions told me that it shouldn't take longer than 5-6 weeks.

To everyone attending the traditional program in the fall, has there been an open house/accepted students day yet? Or have you heard if there will be?

I read that you need to work as an RN for 6-9 months after getting your BSN. Does anyone know if they help you find a job? Do you work for a clinical site that they place you in? I am a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to find a job in order to continue on with the MSN.

They specifically say they don't help you find a job, but I'm pretty sure every one of their students has been able to find one. It took one of my friends about 3-4 months after finishing the BSN portion to find a job.

Hello! It looks like this thread hasn't been updated for a while but I've been reading these boards for a while and thought I'd check something out-

Has anyone heard back from Northeastern about an interview yet? I applied in middle December for the Jan 15 deadline and haven't heard from them yet. I'm starting to really worry I won't get an interview! Has anyone gotten a call, or maybe they are still looking at apps?

I have heard that people have begun to get calls about scheduling an interview...I'm still waiting

Hi Dstewart! Thanks so much for getting back to me. I went to NU for undergrad but I actually don't know anyone else who's applying for this cycle so I didn't really know what the timeline would be like. Do you know when the interviews are being scheduled? Good luck, I hope you get one!

Hi Ijustwanttoknow, I saw on one thread yesterday that someone had been offered an interview and they said they think they will be making more calls this week and next week so don't get too nervous yet! I haven't heard anything else either. I'm also an NU undergrad, finishing up this semester =). Also, are you interested in the online option as well? I feel like I heard in the past that sometimes people are offered a position in the online cohort without an interview. Keep me updated!
