Northeastern- CRNA program

Published

Hey everyone!

Did anyone else get an interview at Northeastern? Is it your top choice? Do you know how many people they usually interview for how many spots? Any interview advice? Thanks.

They may be sending out a second round of acceptances soon? The deadline to respond to the informal acceptance was January 4th, perhaps some students are going elsewhere? Fingers crossed for you guys!

Did you get notified by email or phone call?

So exciting! Did you accept your spot akakma16?

Is anyone attending already from the area?

I'm glad I found this forum! I've been looking to see if anyone else has applied to the Northeastern program. How did everyone's interview go? Mine was more of a get to know you feel. Both interviewers were really nice. I still haven't heard anything regarding acceptance/rejection. Any one else hear anything yet? My email said on or around January... I'm going to go insane if I have to wait much longer!!! :scrying:

Hey Easton! I ended up getting declined from TWU. Interested in north eastern since you applied this year! Heard anything? I will most likely be applying next year!

I got turned down around Jan 15th. It was a positive no, so I will be reapplying this fall. In addition, I have started the process with Western Carolina Univ and Boston College. Both start in Jan, and they are only 28 months.

I plan on reapplying to NE this year-- can those who were accepted post their stats? Appreciate it!

I just reapplied last night. Ive been a nurse since 2008, Im steeped in ER, ICU, and flight nursing. I currently work in a 45 bed unit that is predominately cardiac oriented with regular devices such as balloon pumps, cvvh, ecmo, impella, and rotoprone use.

My academic stats are where my problems lie. I have a 3.34 gpa in my BSN, but my first bachelors was obtained while I was young and actively pursuing a professional baseball career, so my track record as a whole looks a tad bit grim. However, I've been actively participating in every volunteer opportunity I can get my hands on. Im a facilitator for new grads transitioning into the hospital, where we all get together and talk about stressors they are experiencing, and I provide a "trust tree" for them to vent in. Im a new hire preceptor in the ICU for capstone students and new nurses to the ICU, to help mentor and mold new nurses into strong, independant, and prudent ICU nurses.

I've been in my current position for a year and a half now, so I'm hoping I have proven my worthiness this year. I've just gotten my 8th rejection in the last three years, but I'm not stopping until I get accepted!!

I'm sure you'll get in- I was waitlisted last year but only had less than one year of experience and they told me that was my main problem. I'm hoping now that I have 2 it will be okay.

I called about my status in January this year and the admissions lady said the only reason for the denial was that I didn't have enough experience. So I asked her, in her opinion, what do I need to do to make myself a more competitive applicant, and to expect another application in the fall from me. She seemed impressed on my determination, and said that having the attitude I did was exactly the way to get accepted.

So I'm hopeful that Northeastern is my ace in the hole. I was thoroughly impressed with the campus and facilities, and Boston is an amazing place. I'm crossing my fingers, saying prayers, and studying my face off in preparation for the interviews this fall.
