No but I am familiar with the hospital there. It is the largest in the state of Mississippi and has, in the recent past anyway, done some rather surprisingly innovative things considering where it is and the economy, payor mix, etc. It is supposed to be a good hospital but do not know that first hand.

It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Tupelo to here - my brother and his wife/kids live in Saltillo (he's finishing up his residency at North MS), so I travel up there every so often. :)

I'm from central MS as well. I didn't know Tupelo was the largest med center. I thought UMC had more beds and more facilities. Tupelo must really have grown a lot. How is staffing around everyone else's area? Anyone work just agency? Would love to know
Thanks

You are right.. But not by much.... The hospital in Tupelo has 650 beds... And UMC has 665 :)
I'm sure the hospital in Tupelo is the largest in North Mississippi.. :)

Hello,
Same as Nurs2b, I lived 30 years in central (Jackson area) Mississippi. Now live in Arkansas(but close to Memphis). Hello all past, present and future Mississippians. I may return one day. Great teach facility at UMC.
