North Central Texas College (NCTC) LVN/ADN - 2024/2025

Published

Hello,

Well I am trying my chance with NCTC VN (and ADN if I don't get into the VN) program. I applied over 10 years ago (to be exact 11 yrs ago) now that my children are in college (one just graduate at the end of last year) I can now pursue my life goals.  My goal is to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Yes, I already have a bachelor's degree in another industry; so I am starting small since I have to pay out of pocket. =[

I wanted to start this thread to communicate with others while going through this upcoming application cycle (March 1 - 31) for the Fall LVN program.

Back in 2013, NCTC had clear requirements that the science courses could not be older than 5 years (or maybe it was 7 years).

Has anyone heard if A/P or Microbiology courses have an expiration date?  I cannot find anything on their website or in the information sessions that state expiration dates.

Lets chat about our experience

I got into the ADN program! How exciting — I can't wait to meet everyone starting the program this fall & congratulations!

I will not be attending NCTC. I got into twu so I'm going there. However I had 26 points I think. I have a 94.7 on my TEAS with 90's and up in all the categories. I got a c in A and P 1, I got an A in A and p 2 with one point deduction. I have all my prerequisites complete for ADN and BSN so IDK if that helped or not.

Specializes in Future Women Health.

I am so happy for all that received acceptance letters.  I am praying for those who are still waiting.

I was accepted into WCU with 100% tuition/fees, books, uniform - PAID plus monthly stipend provided by Dept VA HPSP scholarship.

I start in August. Let's go to become new RNs. 🎉

Congratulations to everyone that got their acceptance letters today! I am just trying to establish a baseline for the total amount of points people had. I had 26 points and was not accepted so I was just wondering where everyone else who made it was at. Thank you!

TEAS: 94.2%

AP 1&2: Both A's

GPA: 3.9

Is there a waitlist? I'm declining my spot so hopefully they will give it to you.

A friend of mine sent me their acceptance email and it mentions something about alternates attending the orientation but my email doesn't mention anything related to a waitlist.

I'm on the waitlist for the lvn-RN program! I wonder if its a different waitlist for the normal ADN program? When is the orientation for yall?

Congratulations! Do you know how many total points you had for the program?

Thats great! Do you happen to know how many points you had for the program?

I got an 83 on my TEAS, A's in both A&P 1 and 2 but I didn't have any extra points for certifications. I hope that helps

- +1 Priority point for certification

Congrats! Can you explain to me how the priority points work? My friend got an email basically stating she didn't have the points to make the ADN program.

Did your "Intent to Attend" form say ADN program? I got accepted into the ADN program but my Intent to Attend form is for the LVN to RN program & I'm hoping it is a mistake on their part as I DEFINITELY didn't apply for that program and assume that to be accepted to it I would've had to submit a valid LVN license ??

Same! I emailed back asking for the Intend to Attend form for the ADN program & that I would sign and email back asap. That's a relief, because I did apply for both programs & got accepted into both but yesterday I  received the LVN to ADN transition form, and would like to get into the ADN program.

That is a relief to me as well! Wait so did you apply for the LVN program and the ADN program? Or LVN to RN and the normal ADN?
