Just a note to say I am new to this site. Live in western NC. Alexander County, NC to be specific which is about 25 minutes north of Hickory and about 25 minutes west of Statesville. Foothills region. Just an ole farm girl here. .

I have bachelors in Animal Science from NC State U, but have started the process to apply to nursing school this fall. Have lots of questions about schools in NC and the best route for 2nd degree'ers like me...if anyone has some time to answer.

Hope to talk at cha soon.

:balloons: Hello and Welcome :balloons:

Not from NC, but, I have been there a couple times. Hope you enjoy the site!!

I relocated fr. NY to Barton College in Wilson, NC. I begin this fall. I am going to be doing the traditional program and it will take me 3 years as a second degree. This is b/c I do not have prerequisites yet. This is an easy pace and Barton is a small school, individual attention. However, u can check on the net for accelerated programs in NC, but u would have ot get the pre-req. Good luck

Hi,

I think UNC Chapel Hill has an accelerated BSN program that is 14 months.I hear that it is very competitive, and that is not very close to you. Not sure how far you wish to travel?? Have you looked into Catawba Valley Community College? Or Maybe Western Carolina (is that too far away?). Also Mitchell Community College in Statesville has a progarm. Hope this little bit of info helps!
