(Non-Nursing Degree) Clinical Support

Published

Presently, I just finished my Emt-B class with an A. Felt like it was a Medical Crash course of 16 weeks. We basically learned our ABC`s, & 13 Skill Sheets for Practicals. Don`t get me wrong the course book has 1100+ pages. However, it left me feeling that I lacked more knowledge than what I need for the EMS field. One day I`d like to move on to being a Paramedic/RN. There are a few programs that I`m interested in. I was debating about taking the Clinical Support Degree program before entering into the Paramedic program. Wanted to get Paramedic program done before chasing after the the RN.

My current debate is if I should take the Clinical Support Degree program before going into Paramedic. This would be to build a good support structure for both being a Paramedic, & a RN. Would you jump straight into Paramedic program, & then the RN program after finishing Paramedic? or doese it make sense to take Clinical Support before both of these?

Any advice? Is this a question I should have asked in another forum?

Specializes in Psychiatry.

I've never heard of a clinical support degree and all the paramedics I know around here did a year as EMT and then dove right into the paramedic program. Good luck in your choice!
