Non Acute Care RN Positions? (Phoenix area)

Published

Hi everyone,

I will be relocating to the Phoenix area in August. I currently live in MI and am an RN on a cardiac stepdown unit. I have been in my current position since last August immediately after graduating and passing boards.

I am looking to get away from the acute care setting when I move to AZ. So I have been thinking about moving into home health or maybe even outpatient surgery if at all possible. Does anyone have any recommendations on places I should look into? Any places that would be willing to train since I have no experiences in those areas? What area I choose to live in would be based on where I can secure employment so Im open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

Hello :) I am relocating to Mesa the first of July of this year. Yes, only a month and a half away! How is your endorsement going or is MI a compact state? I am coming from Indiana, NOT a compact state! I think that I will do agency nursing to get an idea of where I eventually want to call home. I am an RN with 3 years in the ICU, but am not thrilled to stay at the bedside for too much longer. My plan is to go back to school for my MSN in education. But to get us through the relocation and until we're settled, I want to do agency since it pays a little more, has short contracts and will hopefully let me "look around". I also hope to do a little networking and get the expert advice of AZ nurses once we get there. Good Luck :)
