No More Books/Studying ...til later

Published

This is my vent. With all of this coooonnnnssstannnt studying, I dont think I want to go back to school to study for anything. Yes, I will go for RN but not until I am so over this. I dont have time to read a book of my choosing, participate in activities. Shame on me, I shouldve just at least tried to take the exam when I was done w/nursing school. All of my friends are working now and not wanting to talk too much w/me because of course...they have moved on while Im still studying. I have no regrets but I am so very very burdened and tired of day in day out...night after night, no exercising (nothing like I used to). I miss my family so much. Tired of the guilt i feel, like right now, doing anything else but studying.

Lord please please help me to pass this exam so that I can move on and live my life. I have come this far so I wont quit now, I cant... but please Lord help me, allow me to pass this exam when I take it.:vlin:Sorry everyone..i needed to vent......................

hey there! seems like you are under a cloud lately! :urgycld:

i really hope everything works out for you!

i just hope and wish that you don't give up on your dream of being successful!

it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to accomplish this but remember in order to do this you must have the heart and the desire to keep going. even thou you have to push yourself.

i see this as a journey. you learn from your bad experiences and you learn from the good ones. but the bad experiences is where you learn the most because those are the ones you never forget.

just try to be positive and have faith. keep praying for faith to be stronger and stronger everyday. it takes a huge big attitude to be positive! if you have this attitude and this type of character within your heart..........you will do this! it has to come within deep, deep down in your heart. you have to say it out out loud coming from your heart.........yes! i want to do this! i want to be that successful nurse! i will do this!

so please don't loose that faith in yourself.

you may feel tired of this studying but if you keep pushing yourself that long journey will be over soon and you will see that rainbow, pot of gold or that sun coming out of the clouds!

i wish you sincerely the best of luck with your studies!

I will pray for you. Girl keep faith. IF 2 touch and agree(u and I) so shall it be. Lord please3 ease butterfly bees mind and help her get through this bump in the road. Help her to retain the info she needs to pass the boards. Ease her anxiety. In Jesus name AMEN:D

Thanks everyone. Im not under a cloud really just anxious to get it over with. I appreciate the suppport and encouragement. This was a vent and I felt that this was the safest place to express that. Thank you Nurse GreeEyes for the beautiful flowers and Strawberry for the prayers. We all have our down moments when we are striving, we all can benefit from kind, supportive words at those times, especially from those that have been through the same situation.

I have many accomplishments under my belt and this will be another but I have to admit this is one of the most challenging. Like most other things much effort and continued persistence pay off. It is during that time though that again one gets tired and I am tired.

Specializes in none.

Butterflybee - I am feeling exactly the way you are right now. I have failed this test twice & it is SOOO hard to get motivated to study AGAIN. But we have to keep our chin up and do what we can to keep our attitudes positive. The hardest part is motivating yourself enough to get going to study. So my prayer for you (and all of us) is to stay positive and have faith because you can do this....just don't give in to the negativity. Good luck!!

You are so not alone. For most professions, you go to school, graduate and get that degree in hand, and find a job. Not so for nurses, doctors, lawyers, accountants, or even hair stylists. We all have to study and pass a whopper of an exam before we can become licensed to work. I went thru almost 2 years of nursing school and a year of prereqs to graduate this past May. Now I'm spending my summer studying. Does it royally stink. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will it pay off in the long run? YES!!!!!!!!!!!

The good thing about studying for the NCLEX is I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn for clinicals, don't have to worry about failing a class and being booted out of nursing school. I don't have to spend a ton of money that I don't have for gas to drive to clinicals and school. I can also take a break from that darn NCLEX book and read a book of my choosing or swim in the pool with my kids or create a scrapbook page, etc.

I am reading a medical thriller by Michael Palmer right now and it really does help to take a little "me" time every now and then.

Hang in there. It will be over soon; we'll be in our chosen careers, and earning a paycheck again.

Thanks everyone. Luvn hang in there you will pass, pea enjoy your book. Ive been reading regular books too. Paa have you found a job yet??? This is an old thread, Ive since passed the nclex :yeah:

I've decided to return to nursing after being away since 1992. I practiced for about 12 yrs. I went back to college after that and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was SOOOO glad when I finished school. All those math classes and calculus and heat transfer among others, did me in. Fortunately I did NOT have to take an exam to be licensed in order to work. Thank GOD!!!!

Since I let my license lapse I now find myself in the midst of studying for the NCLEX. There is always something to be grateful for.

Hang in there everybody.:heartbeat

I know exactly how you feel. Sometime I just want to puke with all this studying. I just take a break because the fatigue is telling my body something and when I feel like this it does not make any sense for me to force myself to study because I will not retain anything. I do want to go back to school just to get this over and done with. But remember learning is a continuous phase especially in the health field

Congrats for you, mechanical engineering WOW!!! Now back to nursing double WOWW and Congrats again. Im very impressed and know you will be an excellent nurse. :yeah:

Thanks !!! I had wanted to get away from working shifts and holidays and every other weekends. I had thoughts of being a doctor but that fell through after I spent 4 yrs being poor. I live in Michigan and worked for a major auto co but got laid off and believe it or not there are many different types of engineers, civil, mech, chemical.
