NO ANXIETY!!

So I will be taking the NCLEX in about a little over one month from today. I have been using Saunders to review the content and doing practice questions from the CD as well as NCLEX 4000. I have been pretty calm and chill bc I set a schedule that is not supposed to stress me out so much, but the fact that I'm not worried concerns me, especially when I see memes of "nursing students" having anxiety attacks all the time. Should I be concerned? Should I get more books or question banks???

The fact that I wasn't worried before my exam worried me too :) I did get a little nervous day of, but not extremely so.

If you're consistently taking questions and doing well, I'd keep doing what you're doing. Not everyone gets anxious before exams, and if you've done we'll all along in your nursing program and exams, you may just be more comfortable taking tests than others may be. Good luck!

thanks....also...do you have an opinion on the NCLEX 4000 Review?

When I took my nursing school final, I was so anxious I could not eat, drink, or sleep for 3 days before. The night before the final I slept for 45 minutes. The day before NCLEX, it was like I didn't even care. It was so weird. I kept telling myself, "why am I not anxious? I perform better when I have SOME anxiety". The day of the NCLEX I got to the testing center early enough to have breakfast at a nearby waffle house, and when I was sitting there it was like I just did not care. I was in a fog. No butterflies, no anxiety, NADA! It wasn't a pleasant thing. I actually had to yell at myself in the car, "THIS IS YOUR NCLEX! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT EXAM OF YOUR LIFE! WAKE UP!" I went into Pearson Vue and still nothing. Sat down in front of the computer and still no butterflies. I thought for sure this lax attitude would contribute to my failure... but it didn't :) I guess the no anxiety route is a blessing... as long as you've properly prepared.

As has been said many times before (many by me, LOL!) flipping out, freaking out, being overly anxious does not increase the likelihood of your passing.

As long as you are prepared properly, being calm is in your FAVOR. People who rant and rave and shriek are more likely to cause themselves to miss questions BECAUSE they aren't being rational.

Some people naturally "get it" and stay calm (or at least, calmer) throughout the process and don't feel like their heart is going to explode when they walk into the testing center. I wish I was one of the super calm ones, LOL, but I was pretty nervous. Overall, though, I'm also pretty sure I wasn't one of the hysterical people whose posts you read who either make themselves sick....or even make themselves fail.

Prepare. Relax. And OWN this thing! :D
