2017 NMC UK Decision Letter

World Registration

Published

Hi Guys,

I found an old thread from 2016 but wanted to start anew so we don't have to filter through 20+ pages. I submitted my application in June and it was placed on the queue on June 21. I am still anxiously waiting for my decision letter. My 40 working days is on the 16 August. Is there anyone else that submitted this at about the same time as me that's waiting to hear back?

Also - anyone have issues with clinical practice hours in university from the US? I was short by 25 hospital hours, but I did 187 hours volunteering at a hospital while I was in school. They said to include that in my transcript of training, that it should be ok but it would still need to be assessed like everything else, which leads me to believe it should be fine, albeit still so terrified! I have my family and my boyfriend waiting on me to get there and I can't wait any longer!!

Thank you @lukecerdz, RN. I went to the hospital this afternoon to ask an explanation letter. Apparently, according to the chief nurse they don't give such letters. :( i'm really hopeless right now.

I'm sorry, but why are they being so unsupportive? How about if you make the letter yourself to lessen their workload and they can just sign or whatver.

I did that already, I showed them the letter that I made. I'll try my luck again after holidays. It's the only form that's giving me so much stress and I'm so close to giving up. Trying to exhaust all my options but nothing works.

Are you based on the PH? Anyways better coordinate with your employer if you have one about this they may be the one to coordinate with nmc to find a solution with your problem.

Yes. My employer is KCH and my agency is OMANFIL. Is it even possible? My case is so frustrating.

You can talk to them regarding your problem and maybe they could come up to something, btw the chief nurse is not the one you should be talking to regarding the stamp rather the HR department. Try giving them the explanation letter instead, just maybe they are more approachable.

Our system is actually quite complicated. The hospital I've worked at is a government hospital which means that my employer is our government. Meaning, the hospital's HR department is a separate office from our hospital. I've tried to ask the HR first, but they can't seal my paper bec they said it's not the govts official doc. They asked me to ask the hospital, but the hospital said they can't give the letter bec they have a memo that all official letters and doc will be issued by the HR. Apparently, ive got rejected by these two bodies. I'm trying my luck again today and beg for their help. Please pray for me.

I see my gf also previously works in a government hospital particularly lung centre and kidney institute and when we stamped her docs we have no problem doing so. Don't know why your hospital is being selfish though you served them before. In your case better ask the local government in your area or DOH regarding your problem prayers for you and your application.

Thank you! Btw. who should really sign the explanation letter? It was stated in the form that it should also signed by the referee right? What if I only ask my referee which is my Nurse Sup? is it acceptable?

Yes your supervisor could sign the letter for you. Just make sure he/she is still connected with your hospital. In lieu of that ask your agency also it is better to be sure so that your effort would not put to waste.

If that's the case, I think I have a high chance to have the letter signed by my supervisor. I was also thinking if I can attach my COE with the letter bec my COE also contains certification that the hospital has no dry seal.

Has anyone experienced the missing open button beside the full application submitted upon clicking on the "my application" page on nmc portal?
