2017 NMC UK Decision Letter

Published

Hi Guys,

I found an old thread from 2016 but wanted to start anew so we don't have to filter through 20+ pages. I submitted my application in June and it was placed on the queue on June 21. I am still anxiously waiting for my decision letter. My 40 working days is on the 16 August. Is there anyone else that submitted this at about the same time as me that's waiting to hear back?

Also - anyone have issues with clinical practice hours in university from the US? I was short by 25 hospital hours, but I did 187 hours volunteering at a hospital while I was in school. They said to include that in my transcript of training, that it should be ok but it would still need to be assessed like everything else, which leads me to believe it should be fine, albeit still so terrified! I have my family and my boyfriend waiting on me to get there and I can't wait any longer!!

Hi there. Same case here. My docs were already received last March but there's still no update on my portal. How about yours?

There are agencies where they deploy nurses even without DL. Applicants only present their passed CBT Screenshot for visa application.

Hello prawns11, oh I see. I haven't heard back from the hospital/agency too about the COS so I don't know which one will come first. No update on my portal yet as well, I've got the same remark, the "Thank you for submitting your application...." So, I guess my application is still not in queue.

Anyway, anyone here want to chat up about the application feel free to email me at:

[email protected]

I wanna talk to some people who are in the same stage as me or anyone else who is already in UK and can hopefully give OSCE tips or share their timeline.

I guess this is the part where we wait wait and waaait...

I already emailed the NMC regarding my docs because I'm a bit worried. Some of friends had their docs uploaded in their portal after a few days from the date NMC had received them. Hoping for a reply from them this week.

In your case, I think you should wait for your DL, before the hospital apply for your COS. But keep updating your agency so they would have a track of your application.

Good luck on your DL as well, hope you'll hear back from them soon. I'm going to give it some time since they only received the docs as per DHL last April 6. The counterpart for my PH's agency in UK advised me though that they already applied for my COS but haven't heard back from them. I'll probably just send them another follow up. :)

Hi friends 😄😄

If my employer has already provided me a CoS, can I already fly to the UK even without a Decision Letter yet?

And wait for the DL when Im in the Uk already?

Thanks.

Is it possible to fly to the UK without the DL but with the CoS from the employer??

Then wait for the DL in the Uk.?

I think it's possible, as mentioned above. Some agencies would let nurses fly without the DL and they'll just present the CBT result? :) Not quite sure yet though since I don't have my COS. You can maybe confirm it with your agency/employer. :)

Yes. There are some agencies wherein they deploy nurses even without DL yet and wait for it in UK. For visa application, nurses usually present their DL. However, in instances where DL is not yet available, you can present your CBT result (print the congratulatory email from NMC).

Hello, do you know some people who waited for their DL in UK? Were they able to work there while waiting for the DL? What will be the arrangement if that's the case? Like their accommodation and means of earning if they're still waiting for their DL? Thanks.

A friend of mine just told me that his co-nurse was deployed even before having the DL. The only thing is that there were some problems with the docs he submitted (I think it was with the PRC) so he needed to fix it. I just don't know the rest of the story, whether he flew back to Manila or if he was able to fix that thing while in UK. So this is may be a setback of being deployed while not having a DL.

Thanks for sharing that. My agency advised me that they're just waiting for my COS to be assigned then after that a copy will be sent to me so that I can use it for my VISA application. Up until now there has been no changes on my NMC portal.

Just to clarify though, I will be put on queue once NMC sends me an email and not once they receive the forms via mail? Because when I tracked it via DHL, the forms were received already last 6th of April.
