2017 NMC UK Decision Letter

Hi Guys,

I found an old thread from 2016 but wanted to start anew so we don't have to filter through 20+ pages. I submitted my application in June and it was placed on the queue on June 21. I am still anxiously waiting for my decision letter. My 40 working days is on the 16 August. Is there anyone else that submitted this at about the same time as me that's waiting to hear back?

Also - anyone have issues with clinical practice hours in university from the US? I was short by 25 hospital hours, but I did 187 hours volunteering at a hospital while I was in school. They said to include that in my transcript of training, that it should be ok but it would still need to be assessed like everything else, which leads me to believe it should be fine, albeit still so terrified! I have my family and my boyfriend waiting on me to get there and I can't wait any longer!!

Hi! got a feedback today from NMC and they're asking me to provide another reference form. Since my status was just volunteer nurse, is it okay if I ask any staff nurses in the hosp to fill up the reference form.?

Your letter should come from someone with a higher position like your head nurse or chief nurse.

Hi,

It's close to 2nd month in the queue. You should hear from them anytime time this week or next. Just be patient.

Hi, you can call or email them and ask about the status of your application. The NMC replied to my email on my 50th day,

Hi! I tried calling NMC to clarify some points, and I find the agent a little bit clueless about my concerns. After 15 minutes of talking to him, he gave me my assessor's email ad and told me to just message the assessor about the status of my application.

Finally I received feedback this afternoon after contacting NMC over the phone.That is after 51 calendar days.They requested a new reference form and verification documents from Nursing Boards.So the waiting game is not over yet.

Did you ask them what happened to those documents? Clarify it to them, as sometimes they mishandle those things.

Thank you for your kind reply.Regarding the verification documents,I did a mistake.I used the same form for all three nursing boards.I have spoken to NMC about this even before I was on the assessment queue.And the person I talked over the phone asked me to send blank bar coded forms,in order to update on the computer.Then I was put on assessment queue.

Now my assessor found only the blank bar coded forms on my file.I contacted the assessor via e-mail explained the situation and received the feedback that finally she was able to locate my Verification forms.I no longer need to resubmit it again..What a relief...

Regarding the Employer reference I have submitted a reference from one of my previous employers,which is about 5 years back.But now the NMC require the reference from my last employer.So I still need to submit reference from my last employer.I don't know what will happen now as my last employer was not really willing to give me a reference and they only provide telephonic reference.I am going to convince them once again..
