still waiting, i submitted my docs 1st week of august..hoping to receive it this september or basta not later than last week of october, so that i'll be included sa batch na aalis, hoping and praying really hard hehe. how about you?
Does anyone have any information on the type of visa we get when going to the UK? I know it's a teir 2 visa but what sort of benefits does it come with?I have an aunt who has been working in the UK and she says that while the UK recruits a lot of nurses, essentially we're all just temporary workers with no way to convert our visas to become permanent residents and can be sent back anytime when the nhs no longer require our services. I recall during orientation, one of the trust's representatives stated that we'll be given visas valid for 3 years which you can extend after your 3 year contract with the trust. I assume then that this is under the condition that someone still wants to hire you.
So you keep extending for say, 9 to 12 years then all of a sudden you're no longer needed. Then what? You go home packing and return to pretty much nothing career wise and there's nothing you can do about it? I respect that if that's the case but would like to validate it with you guys' comments/input/knowledge on the matter.
What are your thoughts?

As per the Borders UK website for tier 2
[h=2]How long you can stay[/h]You can come to the UK with a Tier 2 (General) visa for a maximum of 5 years and 14 days, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 1 month, whichever is shorter.
Your stay must start no more than 14 days before the start date on your certificate of sponsorship.
You can apply to extend this visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years.

Lucky for you. I'm worried because my documents aren't still uploaded yet and it has been 15 days from the receipt. I sent an e-mail to the NMC already and I am hoping that they will upload it soon. Do you think there is a problem?

The only thing you can do for now is to wait for NMC's reply or check the portal every now and then. If NMC received your docu, they will surely upload it. Might be it just got stuck with the queue

Yup. I'm just worried because I've read in this thread that some papers got lost, although I'm sure that they received the documents because I have the proof of delivery. Thanks! I'm really hoping that they'll upload it sooooon.
