NMC Test Online

Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

Congratulations Alex. What stage are you now with your application? do you have CoS already? or you in the UK now?

Thank you. I'm still waiting for my COS then after that will process my visa..

How about you?

The job title that I submitted in my nmc application work experience is 'volunteer staff nurse'. I just received my feedback and nmc is asking me to get a letter from my emoloyer indicating that the employer requires me to be registered to practice the role of a volunteer. Any similar experience?

Hi! I had the same experience too and I sent it already to NMC, I asked my employer to write a letter for me stating that I was an RN when I started volunteering. I haven't got any feedback yet. Hopefully, it will turn out okay and theyll accept it.

Hi Alex,

I am in the UK now since December 2015. What is your sponsor NHS hospital? they will take time. my agency based in the UK was quick and was able to have CoS for me in a month because they have direct and private employers in the UK. would you be interested? it wont cost you much. I am now doing my OSCE in a private nursing home.

Thanks. Are they accomodating skype interviews? I'm currently working overseas.

Hi Tian,

Have you passed CBT already? you said you have decision letter already. i can refer you to the agency that i used to processed my application. they are based in the UK and my sister living in the UK found out their service. I am now currently doing my OSCE in a private nursing home here in the UK. Would you be interested? which country you are now?

As stated here: http://www.nmc.org.uk/globalassets/sitedocuments/registration/registering-as-a-nurse-or-midwife-from-outside-eu-or-eea.pdf, volunteer experience is accepted provided that the practice is registered. This could be the reason why NMC wants to verify if we are RNs if we work as volunteers.

For those who will submit their work experience wherein your job title is volunteer staff nurse, it would be better to attach a letter indicating that you are a registered nurse when you practice.

Let's hope for the best :)

Hello I'm new here. I just have some questions as I am currently looking for agencies that could bring to me to UK as well. I am a bit scared because I have read couple of negative feedbacks.

Here are my questions:

1. Are you working as a regular/permanent staff nurse of the hospital (NHS)? From what agency?

2. What happens when you finish your contract? does it automatically renew? What agency?

I am really curious about this as I have really high hopes and dreams of working in the UK as well. Hope you can help me with this. Thank you so much. Have a good day!

Hi Agatoinks,

I think you got the wrong questions. You should ask if you are eligible first to come to the UK. Have you passed IELTS UKVI already? Have you done CBT?

But answers to your questions are:

1) If you want to come to the UK as a registered nurse, I wouldn't go to NHS. The processing time with NHS is more than a year. NHS is run by the government, therefore if the government says stop employing nurses from abroad then your application will be stopped. Laws in the UK changes every 3-6 months.

2) Once your contract is finished, its literally FINISHED. If NHS wont renew you, then youre finished! you'll have to look for a new sponsor.

I hope I answered your questions.

I can refer you to the agency I used with my application. By the way, I am now in the UK doing my OSCE with the help of my agency.

Oh wow. Thanks for your offer but my agency does all the work. I heard my employer already applied for the CoS. By the way, my employer is from Peterborough and Stamford Hospital.

What is your agency here in the Philippines? and What NHS hospital are you employed?

Hi Bea_prospect,

Can you please tell me the name of that agency? I am in the assessment stage and waiting for NMC authorization letter to take OSCE. I heard that OSCE has to be done at Northampton University but seem like we can do in the nursing homes as well?

That's alright Alex, but it seems like your agency is taking ages. that's why I'm just suggesting. LOL.

by the way I didn't go with NHS hospital because they take ages. my employer is a private nursing home and they provide OSCE training as well.

Well I wish you all the best. and if in a month you don't have your CoS yet, let me know and might change your mind,

Hi Ngachoe,

have you got employer already that will provide you the OSCE training or CoS? Yes, the OSCE has to be done at Northampton university but registered Nursing homes provides training and facilities for OSCE preparation.
