Good day fellow nurses!
I'm an aspirant nurse for UK and I really need help or some advice from you who share the same experience with me or have knowledge about my concern.
I just received an email today (NOV 27, 2017) from an NMC assessor and he/she asked me to re-submit my application after I comply with this:
Employment Gap - Applicant must declare by way of declaration if she has undertaken any work as a nurse (unregistered or registered) during the following periods: June 2016 - Present. In this declaration, applicant must also confirm whether she has resided in any country, other than the Philippines, for period of 3 months or longer over the age of 18. Applicant should submit this information as a Self-Declaration or a Curriculum Vitae (C.V/Resume). This should be uploaded to the Portal as 'Additional I.D'. Any gaps in employment should also be noted.
-------------------------------------------------
I resigned from my previous work last June 2016 and never had or applied for work after that. So, I have been unemployed for 1 year and 5 months now.
Questions:
1. Will my employment gap affect my NMC application? Or, will they just ask an explanation/declaration from me about my work gap?
2. If you experienced the same, how did you proceed with your application?
I would highly appreciate your feedback. Thank you and may God bless you.

hi there I also face the same problem????
nandha charles said:HiI submitted self declaration explaining My emp gap and it was accepted and I received my decision letter. You should provide reasonable explanation for those 2 years. Like you can mention IELTS preparation ( for example Jan 2017 to May 2017 ) also mention the number of attempts with exam date . So you can cover a few months for IELTS preparation. Rest is just mention what you were doing in that period. If you have travelled to any country you should mention about that. If not travelled , mention you haven't travelled to any country during that period. Also declare , the employment gap during that period was not problematic.
What is your application stage now ? If are at initial stage , add your employment gap in your CV before submitting. That would be fine . Thank you enquiring about my application status.
Hi if travelled to any country is going to affect the application;I face the same situation but I have travelled to Uk for 2 months
so how should I mention that;can someone help me.

Hi! do you have work gap too?
Hi~
I'm just new here and the NMC asked me the following:
Please upload to your portal a self-declaration to confirm whether you have worked as a nurse (registered or unregistered) between the period of August 2016 -March 2018 and any other gaps in your employment. Please also include in this self-declaration whether you have resided in any other country, for a period of 3 months or longer. Please upload this as 'Additional ID' on your portal.
I'm just wondering how I should accomplish this.
Should I upload my CV and write a separate letter both for my "employment gap" and "whether you have resided in any other country?"
Or should I upload my CV and write one single letter for both the "employment gap" and "whether you have resided in any other country?"
What should I do?

Hi there! I think you can download your CV then write on a separate letter both explanation for your work gap and whether you resided in any other country. I'm planning to do the same also.
Can anybody send me a sample of self declaration explaining the employment gaps? My decision letter came out but I was asked to send a self declaration letter. I have submitted my cv together with the other requirements before but they still asked for a self declaration, can somebody help me on this?
Hi there,I didn't find any options to attach file here. Kindly email me at [email protected]
Can I also ask for a copy of your sample employment gap letter if you don't mind? :)
My email is [email protected]
Thank you very much
One question, I worked as a volunteer nurse before for like 5months and I am decided to just not include it on my resume and just put traveling in my employment gap. Is it acceptable?
Does the exact date needed on the employment gap or only the month and year? can't remember some of the dates. Thanks in advance.

I'm still completing my requirements for assessment. I'm thinking if should I upload my CV with explanation regarding my work gap or should I wait for them to ask me to do so.. í ½í¹„
