I am registered to take the pax-rn on the 13th of august, any suggestions on what to study? I have purchased the review book recommended by the nln and i am using the cd to practice the questions.

hi did you take the test? if so how did you do and where you took it?

Yes I did took the test... I didn't do well on it at all. I have to wait 6 months before I can retest. What book are you using to study? I studied the red book and to me the book didn't have anything to do with the test. The questions was totally different and wasn't similar to the book. The only section I felt was helpful was the math.. the problem was similar somewhat. I took my test at trident tech in Charleston

hi iam sorry to hear that iam using the nln review study guide for RN here the link

http://www.amazon.com/Review-Guide-For-Pre-Entrance-Exam/dp/0763762717/ref=sr_1_1/182-7036064-9839844?ie=UTF8&qid=1411342279&sr=8-1&keywords=nln-rn+pre+entrance+exam

its good bt iam also using the nursing school entrance exam McGraw-hill's book 2nd edition. They kinda balance each other on some areas.you really dont have to wait 6 months you can take it agian within 3months time. iam sad you all the way in charleston we could have studied together :(

Thats the same book i purchased.. I studied the entire book a month and i was confident that i was going to pass and i also used the McGraw-Hill as well... i purchased the app for $10 and downloaded it to my iPad and my phone and studied all day. I wished we could have studied together but trident says its a 6 month wait to retest. I am trying very hard to pass these two last prerequisites with a B or better and get a 2.75 gpa so i won't have to worry about this test. I am looking into other resources to help me prepare just in case i have to retake it.

I think you'll have better luck if you post in the Pre Nursing forum

Ok thanks!

damm iam so sorry...what score is your school looking for as a passing grade? and did you take the paper one or the computer base exam?

  • Author

My school asking you score in the 60th percentile or higher... I took the computerized test... What does your school require?

:( my school is asking for 100% or better and its also a computerized test. I just order the dummy book for physics, hopefully its helps me out

Yea that may help because there is a lot of physics on the test... diagrams and charts but nothing like what is in the book... even the eye diagram question is not like the practice ones in the study guide... make sure you study the definition of each word related to the eye and i suggest knowing the function of each relating to the eye.... brush up a lot on the vocabulary, especially the root words because i saw words i have never heard of! You can email me at [email protected] and i can give some more pointers!

Ok i will :) thanx
