to receive your license from the NJ BON?

Thanks,

Hi,

i took and passed teh nclex the 24th of february still nothing yet.

i have sent emails to the board, here is the contact page.

http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/nursing/know.htm

their response is be patient, they say an average of four weeks turn around time.

i feel like for 400.00 you could have processed it faster, but what can you do?:banghead:

also, i have been searching the below link every day to see if my name pops up, just change to registered nurse and keep looking.

Specializes in Family / Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

I took my test on 2/26/09 but did the finger print on 3/5/09. I called board of nursing NJ yesterday and I was told it take 3weeks excluding weekends, I was very lucky when the lady took my name plus the last four of my social and gave me my license number with the expiration date plus the date I was licensed 3/6/09. She also informed me that they had just sent a letter to me yesterday which I got today. It basically congratulated me and had my license number with the expiration date. It also said I should get the license within 10business days following the letter. So I would encourage you to call them back and see what happens.

I tested on 02/19/2009, quick results on 02/21/2009 confirmed status of passed. I have a job waiting on the line and have contacted the NJ BON 3 times, speaking with Tahanne Rabb. She informed me I did not have a license # in the system as of yet. She only ever asks for the last 4 digits of my social security #. My fingerprints were completed in January 2009. I don't understand why I am not in the system. Would you be so kind as to tell me who you spoke with and are you pressing prompt 4 for license verification? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my potential employeer would like me to start mentorship next week. Orientation is tomorrow and Thursday. I am at the mercy of the system. All I can do is continue to pray and keep checking.

I spoke with the operator, when you call that number stay on the line til the operator picks up. What I did was ask her how long it takes to get the license because I took the test on 2/26/09 and found out I passed on 2/28/09 by checking quickresult however I didn't get my fingerprints til 3/5/09 that's why I wasn't licensed til 3/6/09. Like I stated, I got the letter today from the board of nursing congratulating me with my license number and expiration date just like the lady operator had said. So try that, when you call don't press any number to be transferred stay on the line til the operator answers. Good luck and keep me posted.

Great I'll try that. I don't want this job to slip out from under me, so I'll keep trying. Thanks ever so much for your help.

You welcome, I pray and hope that you get the same angel I got.

This is what I found out after calling. My application is in disciplinary.

As a formality any application received with a "yes" answer goes directly to disciplinary. When I was filling out the application I called NJ BON to try and clarify the question I was having difficulty with but was told I had to interpret the question on my own as each person interprets it differently. What??? The question read: "Have you ever had a professional license or certificate of ANY type suspended, revoked or surrendered in NJ, any other state, the District of Columbia or in any other jurisdication"?

Thus, since I owned/operated a business registered with the State of NJ that had once been revoked/placed on an inactive list due to failure to pay 2 annual report fees of $50.00 each, it constituted me answereing yes to the question. The mailings the state sent went to the wrong address, so it looked like I was not responding, when in fact I never received the notices. It was a big mess that was ultimately resolved with full reinstatement of the business without penalty. With the fees paid and since I was going to nursing school I filed for dissolution of the business. With all my documentation in hand, I went to the NJ BON office in Newark to try and clarify my misinterpretation stating, that I have never held a professional license or certificate of any kind, only a registered business. Of course no one from disciplinary was available to actually speak with, so I just had them make copies to add to my file. I feel so stupid. This is what happens when you read too much into a question. And I should have caught my mistake when I did not have a licesnse or certificate number to list. So now I have a job that I have already completed 2 days or orientation to and no license. I can't even be on the floor without it and have no idea just how long this process will take. Most of the people I have spoken to at NJ BON are not the nicest or sympathetic in any way shape or form. So now I just wait. Ugh!!!

Nothereyet- How long did it actually end up taking for you to get your NJ license? I believe mine is in disciplinary status as well and am curious as to how long before it will even get reviewed.

supersam34- Did you receive answer on your license yet? And if so how long did it take? I just found out my application is also under review by the NJ board because I checked 'no' to being arrested. I had a situation that took place about 15 years ago that was ultimately dismissed. I completely forgot about the situation and in no way was trying to cover up anything. I have a job lined up but I am now stuck in limbo until I hear back from the board regarding licensing.

For anyone who is reading this and who just passed their NCLEX, it took 2 weeks for the NJBON to issue my license. I passed 6/23 and my license was issued 7/7. The physical license arrived about 4-5 days after that. There were no disciplinary or other issues with my license. Hope that helps someone.

Hi Irem what ever what happened with your application, did you end up getting your license? and how long did it take? Did you have to go to the actual Board of Nursing to explain what happened and why you put no?
