NJ Licensure by Endorsement

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

i am peanut, 22 years old and an RN from the Philippines. I currently hold a license from the State of Vermont and I am going to apply for a licensure by endorsement in NJBON.. now, my dilemma is i am still here in the philippines, i read the post about if you're not subjecting yourself for a livescan, it takes about 3-4 months for the process? I am now awaiting for my packet 4 which i don't have any idea when will it arrive,

my packet 3 has been completed last jan.24,2006. I still don't have my SSS no. since my agent will be forwarding it together with the packet. Can I ask for your advice on what shall i do? should i file it already while here in the phils. or just there in NJ? How about the license verification? Shall I use the nursys? VT is included. I hope you can shed light to my queries.

thank you very much.

it's me,

yeah, regarding the retrogression.. does it still apply to request for a working permits or the retrogression is only for those with green card applications? I heard the retro in the Philippines is gonna stretch for 2 years... but i want to know from the authorities and not just from hearsay. i already checked out the USCIS website.. any other suggestions?

hi. im a NM license holder and considering an option to endorse my license to NJ. i am from the philippines. I havent taken the CGFNS exam. I understand NJ requires CES but i found out after i downloaded the CES handbook that there was an additional requirement for NJ. The CGFNS CES report must be accompanied with english language proficiency report. does that mean they also require toefl or ielts? do i have to go through this test even if im just endorsing my license to NJ? their application packet didn't even have anything about CES and a lot of posts in this forum are very confusing.

Was this recently? I heard from others that it took them 3months to process the endorsement which made me really worried. I just sent my papers this morning.. My fingers are crossed.. I do hope it wont take long...

hi leny, these are my answers:

1. no

2. i cannot be certain about that. if you live in nj, i will not recommend that you just call them because it could not be of much help. just go to their office. i was accommodated very well when i went there. they were nice to me. but make sure that you bring all the necessary documents with you. after you have submitted your forms and payment, you should be getting a paper from them regarding fingerprinting at sagem morpho. after fingerprinting, my license number was issued to me "over the phone" when i called them about a month later.

3. no, but they require a ces from cgfns. also, they might require you to submit a copy of your permanent resident card and social security card before issuing you your license.

4. you have to call the hr or ask the nurse manager about that. nj bon is not known for processing license applications very quickly---and the thing is, they don't give out temporary licenses either.

hope this helps!

hi leny,

i recently took my nclexrn for the state of nm, now i am seeking endorsement from nj. i was wondering how long did it take for you to be able to endorse your license and to finish the whole process.

i just mailed mine yesterday, i live here in jersey, after reading this thread i am now wondering if it would be faster if i would just go directly to nj bon?

i'm really excited:lol2:, but it is just so agonizing :banghead:to hear from others that say it really takes a long time (like 3 to 6months) to endorse. is this true?

hope to hear from you soon.

thank you so much.

Hi guys!

I'm glad I found this site. Lots of helpful info here. I don't know if anyone has a specific advise for me, but hope I'll here from someone in the know.

I've been an RN in NYS for the pats 18 years. Not so long agome and my family have moved to New Jersey. I still work in NY, but would like to keep my options open for NJ. From reading this thread I've learned that there is no such thing as reciprocity for RN licensure between these States. I wonder what is the right way to do it, and if anyone has been in my situation too? I'm foreign grad, and of course have gone through the process of verification and jumped through all the hoops nearly 2 decades ago. The thought of doing it again is kind of daunting. Besides, due to some historical changes in the Country of my origin, the school I graduated from almost 25 years ago may not even be around anymore. Of course getting NYS lic verification and submitting fingerprints won't be a problem, but getting 25 year old diploma from the country that is really....no more...may be a problem. I had my education here in a different health field in which I hold M.S degree, and currently inactive NJ license from 2003. So my fingerprints were already submitted to NJ licensing body once before, just for a different health field. Anyway, if anyone could give some helpful tips on how to proceed in this situation it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You all in advance.

Hey guys!

Here's my story. I am a permanent resident here in US and am originally from the Philippines and was educated there. I just recently passed the NCLEX-RN for the Board of California which I took in NJ. Then I decided to stay and practice my profession here in NJ. I immediately mailed the application packet for the licensure by endorsement in NJ and sent it already. I would just like to know if:

1) Do I need to work/have experience in California first before I can have my license here in NJ?

2) How long will it take to process the application(licencure by endorsement) I just sent?

3)Do I still need to take the CGFNS exam?

4) Is there a way I can work while I wait for the license? Because I have been looking around for a job and they all require a NJ license.

Thanks in advance!!

Leny

HI leny,

i know that u posted ur msg like 4 years ago but im still hoping that u get this message coz i also have the same problem as you are before.

im sure that your already at the height of your career right now and i just want to know how you went about with your endoresment application to nj bon.

I just recent became a permanent resident here in the states last year and i took my nclex rn last week march 14,2011.

I already received my cali rn license and i want to apply for endorsement here in nj. I was looking at their updated website and i didnt see any information pertaining to a CES verification.

im also a registered nurse in the philippines so im also wondering if i need to ask PRC (Philiippine Regulations Commission) to fill up the license verification form for nj bon and send it directly to nj bon. because the form states that " the applicant needs to send a license verification from each state that he/she has been licensed in or any jurisdiction for that matter. In my case im licensed in cali and the philippines.

im somehow getting frustrated with all these paper work..

i hope you can shed some light to this issue...

thanks...

hope ull reply...:crying2:

HI everyone,

any foreign nursing graduate here who can share their experience on endorsing their license to NJ recently?im really confused right now..i feel like i have tons of paper work to file and all i want is to get things done and start looking for a job...sigh....

this CES verification is bothering me..its 12am and i feel like staying up until 9am so that i can call nj bon...sigh..

=(

Hey guys, I am in real trouble. I will surely appreciate your advice. This is related to NJ licensing that's why I opt to post here. (Please be gentle with me. This is my first post) :o I am a foreign trained nurse who is currently residing in NJ. I have green card and SSN. My questions are:

1.) Can I be exempted from taking TOEFL because of my green card and SSN? I actually read the requirements at BON NJ site but I am kind of confused because I know someone who did not take TOEFL to sit for NCLEX (NJ state). I asked him how he did it but he did not tell me. I mean he did not answer my email. :crying2:

2.) In one state, I read that there was one nurse who did not reach 26 score in the speaking part of TOEFL. She got 24. She wrote the BON, and her total score was considered. She did not need to retake TOEFL.

I know that every experience is unique. I hope nurses in NJ who had similar situation as mine can share. Please. And thank you very much in advance. I tried my best to read all posts related to my question but I am really confused.

Best regards,

Kalleigh

May I add...I think this site is better than FB. I learned a lot of things. Really. Just saying. Thank you.
