Hi there! Just wanted to get in conctact with other applicants who are applying to the Scholar Practioner Program at Nipissing University.

We could use this thread to talk about different components of the application.

Hey guys! Just a reminder that I created a Facebook group for SPP 2018 -- just search Nipissing SPP 2018 on FB and request to join! Me or the other admin will accept! We have about 21 people already -- it's been a great source to get to know each other and ask questions. Thanks!

Hahaha I don't have facebook so I guess I'll just be a surprise come day one.

How does grading work at in the SPP?

Congrats to all those who got early admission!! I got an offer as well I believe March 27th. Praise God I was following this thread or I wouldn't have checked at all! I've accepted the offer, and can't wait to meet all of you. I will be joining the FB group.

@Tasha0117, the hours of your placement vary based on your organization. If you get put into TPH the hours are only 9-5, whereas if you're placed in a hospital through UHN or SickKids, your hours can be either day shifts (7am-7pm), or night shifts (7pm-7am). But at SickKids you are expected to always arrive at your placement half an hour before the starting time.

Does anyone know- if we accept Nipissing or any other offer, would we still be notified on OUAC if we were accepted anywhere else? Or does accepting an offer make it an automatic decline to other program choices?

You will still get notified of another acceptance!

I called today and they said they only have a comprehensive list once everyone accepts, and then after that it is sometimes contingent on the agencies, so usually you wouldn't know until September!

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if there's some type of registrar's office for Nipissing in Toronto? Perhaps in the building where we had our interview/where we'll have classes? I just realized I'm going to need to get some things signed by them in September and I really don't want to drive 4 hours to North Bay.

Can anyone confirm whether or not we get any time off in the summer for the program? For some reason I thought we got August off but I spoke to past students who said they didn't get any time off in summer. Wondering if anyone heard for this year, as I know the program is always evolving based on feedback!
