Nipissing SPP 2019 Application

World Canada CA Programs

Hi there! Looking to connect with others who are applying to Nipissing University's Scholar Practitioner Program for Fall 2019.

Me too!!

I graduated from YorkU with a BSc in psychology. I have the prerequisites but feeling discouraged because my first 2 years GPA was not a great compared to my last 2 years of university.

Im sure you will be fine! I was actually accepted for this year Fall 2018 but deferred my admission to Fall 2019. As long as your culmative average where they want it, from memory I think it's 75% percentile? You should be good! Just focus hard on your supplemental application! That's where it really counts! :)

Hi there!!!

I am going to be applying to Nippising for fall 2019 as I am currently in my final year of my BSc in kinesiology at the university of waterloo!

I have a high cumulative average but a pretty low grade in my introductory psych course i took in first year, any idea if that will greatly effect my chances?

Also do you know if your order of rankings on OUAC effects the likelihood of getting accepted at programs that you didn't rank #1.

I dont think the ranking matters! And from my experience what they are really concerned with is a strong supplemental application! Best of luck & happy holidays :)

Hey there! How's everyone doing with their applications?

Pretty well!

I sent off my application 2 weeks ago. Patiently waiting while I prep for CASPERS. What were your placement choices?

I chose; 1) Sick Kids, 2) UHN 3) TPH.

Just had my documents received today! My rankings were the same as Nora110; I've never worked with children in a clinical setting before so I'd love to get placed at Sick Kids!

I'm still a bit confused about how they calculate your admissions average, is it based off your twenty best semester-long courses?

I am not completely sure! Honestly, my last 2 years were better than my first 2. So I really hope they overlook that and focus on my clinical skills.

I currently work as a medical assistant also tons of experiences with children in a family health setting. I am writing my Caspers on Feb 24th. Cannot wait till that's over too! I really want to find out if I get an interview or no! Really hope we all make it! It would be lovely to connect with other students before going into such an individualized program.

Hi there!

Did anyone get an email about interviews yet? I know its late feb but i'm so nervous, been checking my email all day haha. Also, I remember reading last year the interview days were from March 12-23 but this year it starts on the 18th. Does that mean it'll be a smaller class?

Hopefully we all hear good news soon!

I am so nervous.((

From what I understand, they are awaiting our CASPERs results before sending out interview invites. I am with you on the nervousness. I have been obsessively checking my emails daily in hopes. Fingers crossed, we hear back in the next couple of weeks.

Good luck everyone ?
