Nightingale College 2021

Published

Hello everyone !
I’m so excited that I’ve found this program ! I live in California where all nursing schools are impacted, to find a program like this is a miracle .  I am finishing up the enrollment process now . I’ve notice that there are not many posts on the site for the school . Has anyone went to the program or planning to go ?

OMG I am so happy to see this. Trying to find a school and saw this one mentioned on FB so I came here and saw many Californians are attending. I'm in Northern California and was looking for programs. I wonder if they will take the Military GI Bill.

? I’m almost positive they do take the GI Bill and offer military scholarship and what not.

Same here , I’ve been working crisis positions since last Summer to try and save for school. The traveling expenses are going to be expensive , I’m hoping to meet others from the same area and maybe get an airbnb or something . Are you going to test out for the two nursing classes ?

Hey how do you test out for the two nursing courses? how is the program going for yall ? I have all prereqs complete besides technical writing would I be able to finish the program in under 2 years?

I go to Nightingale College and am a remote learner currently in New Mexico but will be moving to California in July (military family). I just passed my fundamentals HESI on Monday so I am now just wrapping up my second semester of the nursing classes. Feel free to ask any questions.

Hey I have completed all GEs besides Technical writing and planning to apply for the August start date. Would I be able to complete the remaining nursing classes in under 2 years? Also is there Summer classes? The advisors have been confusing me, one said no and the other yes.

Yes you do. I have a classmate from San Diego and she travels for her clinicals.

She travels once a weeks.

Hi,

If you have to travel for clinicals does it make the program length longer?

The other classes are all online. ?

Hey so if you do not live near the clinical sites and have to travel do they allow you to take more than one clinical in a semester?

Yes I was told I don’t actually have to travel until 346 because of testing out of 246 and 266 .Because I’m a distant Learner I have no site near me so I will be going at the end of the semester for clinical in whatever state is available for 5-12 days  . They’re not offering Las Vegas campus to us, I was told it is impacted .

Hi,

So since you have to travel does it make the program longer for you? I am a little confused about that. One advisor told me it would take more three years but I have completed all GEs already. So I am not sure why it would take three years. Would I be allowed to do more than one clinical per semester?

Hi!

I haven’t actually started yet, I start tomorrow!! From what I was told it’s self teaching a lot especially since it’s online . I was told due to the new vaccine and covid cases going down I will be attending in person clinicals.

Hey can you update on your clinical experince since you have to travel for your clinicals are you allowed to do more than 1 per semester? Or does it not really matter RN since most are not in person?

Hi! If you are a remote learner you can only take 1 class with a clinical per semester. So if you have all GE completed then it would be 7 semesters. There are no breaks. Right after 1 semester ends there Is a small 1 week break then the next semester starts. You will complete your clinicals at the end of each semester. Right now they are starting them with BSN 246 and that is in your 3rd semester. If you start in Aug with only 7 semesters you would graduate in dec2023.

I just received my acceptance letter from Nightingale College this morning!! I’m so excited that I found this program!! It fits my schedule perfectly and I am located in the heart of one of the SOFE Area sites!! Who else is starting August 30,2021?

Hey there. The school is approved for educational benefits through the VA. Keep this site handy: https://inquiry.vba.VA.gov/weamspub/buildSearchInstitutionCriteria.do as it will be your guide to all the approved schools that take the GI Bill. -Mike.

Thanks. I have been on there already and found it.  I chose to stay local. The BAH is not worth attending school outside of CA. I was starting my pre-nursing here so I will be able to focus only on school and not have to work full time.

I appreciate your reaponse. It might help others as well. Shonda

Hi so I was told I could combine some clinicals possibly. Which ones are really short like only 5 to 10 days? Those are the ones they are saying I could combine in one semester. And do one in the middle and then one at the end.

also for the classes are we in a zoom with classmates and the teacher or is it all self taught ?

My admission advisor told me different. I'll ask my academic advisor and see if he has a different answer. I do know people who are taking 205 and 225 together but they are not remote.

Everything is self taught. Once a week we have webinars but it's not really to teach. We basically go over NCLEX style questions for 50mins. Then we have scheduled "classes" these are more of a review and discussion type. They are mandatory and you will pay 200 if you miss it. You don't get a say in the day or time. There are like 7 in 205.
