What does your facility consider "weekends" on nights? Are they Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday?

For the purposes of the weekend differential, weekends are defined at 1900 on Friday through 0700 Monday.

1900 friday to 0700 sunday. But we get no difference in pay for weekend night than for any other night of the week. EVERYONE in nursing at my facility works every other weekend anyway.

Same in my unit. But I only get paid weekend diff when I work Fri or Sat night. By our unit standard, this means that I basically work every weekend! I usually work Fri/Sat one week and then Sun night the next.

At the last hospital where I worked we were required to work every third weekend - for noc shift that meant 7p-7a Fri and Sat. What burned me though is that they made us work 2 Sunday shifts per schedule/month, though the weekend shift differential did not apply for the Sunday shifts. A load of crap if you ask me.

We are required to work four "weekend shifts" per month, and are trying to decide if that means fri, sat, or sat, sun. We don't get a weekend diff. Thanks for all your responses.
