nice place to rent in san jose near VA Palo Alto

U.S.A. California

I am considering a position at VA Palo Alto and probably may start sometime in August( depends on the lengthy paperworks). Any suggestion on safe places to rent an apartment. We are interested in San Jose area, a 20-25 min. commute is feasible. I've already checked reviews on Enclave and Waterford place but all I got are unsafe conditions.

I rented at (I believe the name was) Willow Lake Apartments in north San Jose off Murphy Road. Very nice apartment complex, upscale, professionals, quiet, peaceful, a good place for a nurse to rent. A new management company took over before I moved, but this still should be a nice place to rent. Very close to Highways 280 (commute to VA Palo Alto) and 101. Recommend this complex.

Definitely try to find an apartment complex off of 280 or 85. Anything close to the 101 will either be ghetto or way too much of a commute to the VA in Palo Alto (which is off of 280). Try not to find something too far south from Palo Alto, because going north on either 280 or 85 in the morning is the way the commute goes. If you're working night shift, you won't have a problem with traffic at all.

My boyfriend used to live in the Hamptoms (280 and Wolfe in Cupertino). It's a very conventient location, minutes to San Jose, would be ideal for going up to Palo Alto. It's a great apartment complex with nice amenties and apartment/townhouse style floor plans. http://www.rental-living.com/Communities/The-Hamptons/

Good luck!

I'll be working straight night shift in an IICU, I'm excited and looking forward to it. I'll be having my physical on Thursday and still need to wait 2 weeks until I get a formal job offer. BTW, I'd be relocating from the Midwest. I hope I can find a quiet place to stay. Thanks for your suggestions guys.

I used to drive past VA Palo Alto on Highway 280 for a home health night shift case in Burlingame. The commute is easy from the apartment complex I mentioned, a straight shot. Hope you like the area as much as I did. Good luck on your trip and good luck in the new job.

I use to work for a transportation company had a contract for the VA. It is good place to work. Many of the intern doctors there are from Stanford medical School. Mountain view, and Woodside, is a nice place to live
