There have been past threads & posts on dreams we nurses have and they're usually not really all that positive.
A recurring theme in theses dreams are things like not seeing or charting on a patient or patients, endless lights and alarms, or dealing with a situation in an incorrect manner.
One such dream that I had was that I fell asleep at work, hadn't see my patients and when I went out into the hall, I was naked.
EW! Nightmare!
Even though I haven't worked as a nurse for two years, I continue to regularly have nursing dreams, as I did last night. But this dream was a positive one.
I was in a meeting with my direct supervisor and another nurse. The supervisor expressed fear that we, as her two best nurses, would get tired of all the BS administration was throwing at us, leave our positions and quit.
I assured her that if administration wanted to get rid of me, they'd have to kill me.
Nice dream.
You ever had any nice nursing dreams?
Last night I dreamed that I visited the hospital where I began my career, getting my EMT in '79, LPN student in '83, then working there from '84 to '90.

My tablet is screwing up, but I just wanted to add that I was welcomed by my old coworkers, and I looked around at the old part of the hospital, which was built in 1949, and enjoyed the architecture and decorating scheme.

I have been retired for over 2 1/2 years and continue to have dreams of working as a nurse. Most are TCB dreams of doing some task or fulfilling some other professional duty. Every now & then I have dreams of still being in the nursing program and I got my RN over 30 years ago!
Last night, I had a good dream of being in a seminar and getting recognition for my art.
In the dream, I was an LPN at a seminar for the RN program and spoke of my experience. I also sang the praises of another LPN who was there as an RN student.
There was a break, and I went to a counter where the lady behind it was putting magnets I had made of some signs and different cartoon characters that I had made on a refrigerator. The lady complimented my artwork and spoke of others that I had made she did not have in her possession.
Pleasant dream.

Jeepers now retired, I have dreams of working all the time....never that I was stellar, rather I hadn't met my patients yet and it was the 'end of shift'.
I did have them when I was actually working, I thought I should be compensated for working all night in my dreams". I asked a psychiatrist (not a Freudian) and he said he has many nurse patients who describe this. My husband who is a CPA never dreams about his work.

Yeah- I've had those dreams also. Not having something done for which I was responsible.
I laughed out loud at this portion:

Off the top of my head, londonflo, I would guess that your husband is a competent CPA who never leaves work undone.
That, and/or he's a Type B personality.
I once had a dream where I was smoking a joint in the NS.
To me, it wasn't a Nice Nursing Dream, but...
