2019 NHSC Loan Repayment Program

Published

Hello everyone! I applied for the 2019 cycle of the NHSC Loan Repayment Program. I noticed that threads have been started every year for the application process. I am a first time applicant and hoping to connect with others who have applied for the NHSC LRP and we can all share our updates here.

Thanks and best of luck to everyone!

Not only is the application process exhausting but I'm frustrated that stated selection and funding seem inconsistent. Know several individuals who were awarded NHSC contracts at look- alike FQHC with site score of 16, and they most assuredly don't come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

I also wonder if its "first come first serve"...do they award by application submission? I know they look at tiers and disadv bkgd etc, but how else will they make a selection if a pool of applicants fall in same category. Last year i was denied but I turned in applications a day or 2 before deadline. This year i prepped, had all documents (nothing changed) and submitted application 2nd day opened and was selected.

If you think the application is exhausting and frustrating, don't apply. Simple.

What I didn't do is ask for your opinion- so go sit down and shut up

Ooooh big talk from someone who gets exhausted over an application, I wonder how well your patients would feel if they knew!

Anyways, I'm doing my fourth contract with them. It isn't first come first serve. I've submitted at the deadline every.single.time. with even minutes to spare.

You have a lot of free time- might want to use some of it to seek the professional help you seem to need.

Thankfully patients and message boards everywhere can be graced with your mere presence. Bye Felicia

Did you submit birth cert, not DL and all documents aa PDF files? Those were 2 reasons i was denied

They said it was due to limited funding, the process was so EXHAUSTING I haven’t had the chance to call to see if there was a reason I wasn’t considered being that my number was so high and I come from a disadvantaged background. I drained myself with the process but I’ll try again next time and that time I won’t be so anxious

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple hours, been doing my job. Unlike the most of you. Good luck trying to get anything from the call center. They can't help you, they're restricted on everything outside general information. But, don't listen to me, go find out for yourself.

JG17- you might not have sensed it, but there's a troll in our midst. They just need attention and will do anything to get it. Being ignored is like kryptonite to them

JG17- contacting bureau by mail to verify reason for not being selected as a participant was lack of funding and to specifically ask if there was any missing information on your application might be best route

Any funds deposited?

I believe the funds will be deposited no earlier than 60 days of your signed contract and probably closer to 90 days after your contract was signed.
