Hi All-
I know a lot of people who have received their acceptance letters from NHCC in Saturday's mail. I think they'll be out this week!
Anyone have theirs yet??? I'm excited!

I am just curious, for all of those that got into NHCC...is this your first time applying? I am thinking of starting in the fall as a pre-nursing student. I like the fact that there are many evening classes available, so also wondering what you think of the school so far. Congrats on getting in!
I haven't taken any classes at NHCC but I did apply to their program once. When I tried to apply for a second time, they attempted to re-charge me for a bunch of fee's that I had payed the prior cycle. When I questioned them about the fees they grew angry with me. I was directed to someone whom seemed to at least know something about the RN program who explained they changed their fees and I had to repay everything (despite having payed the year prior). I told them I wouldn't be applying to their rinky-dink college, and that it was appalling that the original woman I spoke with just expected me to shell out more money without explanation.
Overall I thought it was better for myself if I didn't become involved in a college that cannot even present a decent "Front of the house"
Also I have two cousins that went there and really despised it. They say the instructors are foreign and difficult to understand, and teach poorly. This however is not supported by their pass rate, which is high. I do believe you will be doing most of the teaching to yourself in this program.
Overall I'm happy because I was accepted elsewhere, where I have already attended and like.
Well, I have been going to Hennepin Tech to do the LPN program but they added all of the science courses. I figure since I want to do RN just go straight for it instead of LPN then bridge. NHCC is so close to where I live. Anoka Ramsey would be okay but further drive.
Do your cousins still go there? Were most of the teachers bad or just one? Good teachers are so important.
If you owed money they should of told you, why did they wait until you tried to go back? That concerns me too.
sunshine......I just finished the RN program at NHCC. I took all my pre-req's there and was extremely happy with the program. The instructors were all knowledgeable and spoke EXCELLENT english. NONE of my instructor in the RN program were foreign. The only fee you pay (and have to pay it each year when you apply) is your application fee. NHCC does not have a waiting list like other schools, so you must apply each year if you do not get in.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the program. It would be best to get answers from someone who has been in the program.
Thanks
Matt

Hey 'xptp29a'! I also got accepted into the 2010 fall NHCC day program. I received an 'A' in Micro, 'B' in A&P II, and an 'A' in A&P I. My accumulative GPA was something like 3.7 or so. Before getting accepted, I was curious what the criteria was as well. Wishing you all the luck in the world!
