hi, i was just offered a postion at new york presbyterian hosipital. i now have to take the pharmacology/math exam, would like to know if anyone has taken the exam and what should i expect. i always get nervious before any exam.

You have to take a math/ drug exam for any position and for any hospital job, if you are going to be adminsitering medications.
Every nurse there has taken one, and every one of us that are practicing here have taken an exam like that. You made it thru school, and you passed NCLEX, I would not worry about the exam.

There have been several threads on this.
It covers basic drug knowledge and calculations. About 50% is calculations and they are relatively easily. The other half is basic knowledge about fairly common meds. It is computerized and you will know the results at the end.
thank u caroladybelle, i did find some trends on the subject. how many questions were there? i am not worried about the math, just nervious about the drugs. i have been using the study guide and i do know all the drugs listed, still a little nervious. happy 2 know it's on computer!!
