Aloha!!
Right, i'll keep this short n to the point
Im a RGN with 5 mths post-reg experience in day surgery (recovery).
Now im doing my psychiatric nursing for 12 mths, & qualify in september.
What i want to know is, to work in australia, can i go straight over there to work in psych care, or do i need post-reg experience. Some have said yes, some say no :uhoh21:
Just to clarify, i do enjoy RGN critical care (millions ask why do psych....!?) but long-term id like to work in A&E as psych liasion, but that'll take years
Well that was just to explain a bit!
Well, all thoughts, wonders & head-scractches will be much appreictaed!
Thanks,
Meeee!

if you want to work in oz, get nursing board approval and visa approval first above anything else! this takes months. if you're approved as a registered nurse, with your description, you'll probably be able to work as a psych nurse immediately. depending on which state/facility you go to. but you definitely do not need extra post grad certificate to work as psych nurse.
