Newly licensed NP working as RN?

I am a recently licensed family nurse practitioner, the job market for NP is not good in my area so I do not know when I will be able to find a NP job although I have been actively searching for it. I was not working for a year due to NP school and some illness. I am thinking going back to RN role and do some bedside PRN nursing while I am searching for NP jobs. I was working mostly med-surg but I would like to get a job in ER so I can gain some experience which may be helpful for future urgent care NP job hunting.

My question is I do not know if anyone will hire me as RN if they know I have NP license? How I am going to explain this to them? thank you !

I feel you. I graduated last year June then board certified in September, couldn't find a job. I had various interviews but some were just ridiculous compensation, assisted living facility which I am not interested in, some offered a part-time position which I didn't want them speciality groups changing contract terms to benefit them and disregard the worth of NP skill set. So I continued working as an RN as a perdiem at the facility I was working the second year of school program. And I finally found a job that I like and will be starting next month. My advice is that you be honest with them without saying that RN position is your back up plan and temporary basis but tell them you want the Perdiem position in ER so you can maintain RN skills competencies and you're interested in training in urgent care setting near future. But you'd continue to keep this RN position.

You should be able to get a job just fine.

There is some debate about this but most people would agree that you should buy your own malpractice insurance as an NP even if you are not working in that role; it is about $1000/yr for your first year.

In many states, they are the same license. They will see it when they check up.

You will be held to your highest license so it could be an issue but it can't hurt to try getting an RN position

How amenable are your personal circumstances to moving? If possible, that is definitely something that you should look into, even if on a temporary locums basis. I don't believe that you're going to have any problems being hired as an RN, but if you really want to gain experience and to practice as a clinician you should go where the opportunities are. If you are married talk to your spouse seriously about it. Moving doesn't necessarily have to be a traumatic experience . It could be to another town in the same state. If you don't have a family or anything to restrict your movements then explore. Its a big country out there.
