Hi everyone!
I am new to the forum and hoping some of you out there can give me some advice. I am taking my pre-reqs now (in a CUNY) while working towards my BA in Psych. If all goes well with my schedule I will be done with my degree in December 2013. I am planning to stay a semester to finish my pre- reqs.
I do have to mention that I was on a completely different career path before, but certain events drew me into nursing. (so my transcript has a lot of classes that are not applicable to nursing whats so ever ) So far I am looking into NYU, SUNY Downstate, Wagner, Pace and Stonybrook. (Accelerated programs) I do not want to go out of the city. I outlined the remaining classes I have to take for each program.
Right now I have a 3.3 overall GPA. In my previous CUNY school I took Bio1 and got a C. I later on took Bio2 and got a D. (Later on I found out that my Bio1 transferred over as Bio2 and I didn't have to take it...the D does not average into my GPA... which I'm happy about but I am upset that nobody shared this information with me earlier)
The pre- reqs I have so far:
Intro to Psych: B
Sats: B-
AP1: B-
...and I withdrew from Chem a few semesters ago because I was scared to fail.
I would just like to ask how all of this is looking. Does it look really bad that I got a C in Bio even though its not a pre-req (its just a pre req for AP) Does is also look bad that I withdrew from Chem? Realistically I do not know if I will be able to get all A's in my future science pre-reqs. I am not strong in science. I really likes AP1 because it was about the body. Even though I'm not a stong science student I really love patient care and medicine. I currently work for a Urologist (almost 2 years) and love getting any sort of patient interaction.
What are your suggestions? Should I do anything to put myself over the top since my grades aren't the strongest?
Thanks in advance!

Hey! I also am taking my prereqs at a CUNY while getting an associates in liberal arts. My advice is to get as many A's as possible!! the schools you listed are highly competitive, especially the accelerated programs. if the A's aren't attained make sure your extracurricular activities are up to par. volunteer at a hospital, get BLS certified, etc. Many of the people applying to the same programs will have 3.6 or higher GPAs and extracurricular activities. BEST LUCK!! :)
