Newbie with a couple of questions????????

Hello to all my fellow nursing enthusiasts! I'm a 25 year old male American citizen from Chicago studying nursing (BSN-RN) in the Philippines with 1 and a half semesters until I graduate. After I finished high school I worked as a pharmacy technician for almost 5 years and realized that healthcare was my calling which eventually influenced me to try something new and go to my motherland and study here in the Philippines as opposed to the States.

I just have a few questions for those who might be able to help me out.

1st- Even if I'm an American citizen is it true now that before I can take the CGFNS or NCLEX boards in the states that I am required to pass the board exams in the Philippines first or can I go directy to the States after graduating and take the board exams without taking them here in the Philippines first?

2nd- Due to the current nursing shortage throughout the States. I am interested in recruiting Filipino/Filipina nurses to work abroad. I understand it is a long and tedious process. How do I start and could you recommend me any resources that might be able to help me out with my problem.

I would be greatly appreciative if anybody could help me out or refer me to someone who can.

You do not need to take the licensing exam in the Philippines in order to write the NCLEX exam.

Even if you were not a US citizen, the NLE is not required to work in the US. If you are planning to work in Illinois, you will need to complete the CES, a credentials eval before they will permit you to write the NCLEX exam. You do not need the CGFNS exam.

I would focus on you getting your license first and being able to practice in the US before you start on your recruiting process. There are too many things that need to be done and it will take your focus away from what you need to know and do. Take things one step at a time and then they will just fall into place....or you end up just selling names and resumes to the highest bidder and I hate that.
