Hey everyone I haven't seen a forum for the fall 2022 deadline for NYU's ABSN non-accelerated and accelerated pathway yet soo I decided too start one so we can all stress out together in these next few months of applying
Hello! I am in my 2nd sequence at NYU in the ABSN program. I just wanted to say that I am so happy with my decision to attend this program. The cost is brutal but there are so many scholarship opportunities and the professors are amazing. I love my clinical locations, the SIM lab and the course layouts. There is a reason it is a top 10 nursing program in the United States!

Hi Bernadette,
I'm glad you're happy with your decision congratulations on getting in! Did you have to have a high GPA to get in? Does experience help?

Also applying for the ABSN program! Did you guys submit your official transcripts via Common App AND directly to Office of Undergraduate Admissions? I emailed them a week ago and haven't received a response. Would appreciate the feedback.
Good luck to all!
Heyy
I just submitted them directly to the office not on common app. Honestly just give the admissions office a call they answered pretty quickly and confirmed all my transcripts and application being received
Hey everyone... I have applied for the advanced 15 month track. I graduated from NYU back in 2014 and doing a complete career change into nursing. Good luck to everyone! Few QUESTIONS:
1) Anyone been able to calculate the total cost for ONLY tuition for the 15 months?
2) Is anyone wondering why NYU has not jumped on the band wagon and offering a direct masters entry program? The ABSN and MSN are virtually the same thing at the end of the day... I get that... and they all lead to the same outcome as far as RN --> Advanced Practice Nursing. It is just mentally tiring to know youre moving laterally (at first) and not upward in education degree. NYU is a great school don't get me wrong.
3) Also, I believe it will be hard to get federal loans because this is treated as a second bachelors correct? Need to do private?
4) How many clinical hours does a student typically get within this 15-month program?

Glad to hear you are enjoying the program. For the accelerated 15 month ABSN what is the actual tuition cost. Just the tuition.

Also bernadette could you please tell us what you schedule was like during the first sequence? day/times? Did you have any weekdays off? I think columbia has off fridays (or its online -in the Summer) I am trying to see if its feasible to commute from long Island or if I'll need to get an apartment again here in the city.

1st sequence we all had class/clinical 3 or 4 days a week, depending on our clinical placement. All students in the 1st sequence have lecture the same day/time and then your schedule varies on which day you have clinical and SIM labs. I personally had class/clinical Monday-Thursday. Nobody has weekend clinical, labs or classes.
Monday: Had lecture from 8AM-2PM
Tuesday: Clinical 7AM-3PM or SIM 1PM-5PM (Rotates biweekly)
Wednesday: Had lecture from 8AM-2PM
Thursday: Had HAP sim 8AM-12PM
This semester is the same, we all have 3-4 days of class per week. I have class/clinical Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Many people manage to travel from Jersey and LI fine, it will just be a bit of an early morning on the days you have clinical.
For cost, it comes out to about $28,000 a semester without board. I have received a few great scholarships and recommend applying at the beginning of the semester when they send the scholarship e-mail out. Goodluck!

Thank you for all that info! That schedule makes the program highly appealing! So its about 110K? total?

This is so helpful thanks. I applied for the September 2022 ABSN program and I’m eager to hear back. Anyone know when that will be?
