hey guys! i also applied and was wondering if anyone had any information about the health check that is required if admitted. i know this is probably not the place to say this but what drugs are they going to be testing for? i smoke weekly ...

Hey, I'm in the program and they test for everything including marijuana. Stop now. It can effect your clinical placement and admissions. We were all gutted by the drug testing.

Also, the health check in general is a complete PAIN. You'll get it done but you do it through something called Complio and its just an exhausting thing.

I just graduated from the program. They test for basically everything at the start of the program. Your clinicals may test you too but I never got tested. Haven’t heard of anyone else getting tested after the initial one either.

I think it's only a problem for Mt. Sinai. I know someone who got tested this week.

There's a chance, sure. It would be up to them re: admissions if there was a positive. It's not a good first impression, unfortunately.

I think you should be fine if you stop now, by the time you get an acceptance and do the deposit and everything, you probably have a test before you start.

hey guys

I just called NYU a few minutes ago and was told we can hear back anytime between the middle of april until june 15th. I hope to hear back soon so I can be less anxious in regards to what I'm doing with my life lol.

Does anyone have any insight as to where exactly we will eventually be able to view our admissions decisions? I am assuming that it will be available on the portal with our application checklist but I want to be sure!

Any info on this @Bonstemps? Since you have already been through the process. Thanks!

Hey! Honestly, its really difficult to estimate when you will hear back - we had a massive range in our cohort; I heard back three months after submission during the first round of acceptances. I'd imagine at least a 2.5-3 months wait, from there they are able to release acceptances all the way to around July/August. Some people in our cohort heard back about 3 weeks before start.

When it comes to checking, check every Friday from the beginning of April. April is probably the first month of releases, based on former years. I checked randomly on a Friday (October 30) and found out I was accepted. I NEVER received an email about it.

I was actually wondering where** we view our admissions decision though? If not via email, then on which portal and where exactly? I just want to know where to be checking in the upcoming weeks - thanks! And I hope that the program is all that you hoped it would be!

They will send you an e-mail for Albert and there will be an area where you can review what you've submitted and all that! That's where the admission decision will be!

The program is good! There's stuff I love, stuff I hate, and the bits in between.
