It's a little early but I figured I would start this thread as we all begin to get our applications in!

And okay, that's fair haha. Hope you are enjoying it most of the time though! Are you or anyone from your cohort able to work PT during the program?
I think that's the right link! You'll know it when it comes close. Yeah, there's stuff that's fabulous - access to SIM lab/tech, placements, majority of professors, friends, the name of NYU, being a future RN - and there's the stuff we all pretty much hate - the way the exams are taken, the amount of GROUP work (so much), being tired all the time, the small but busy assignments - but it totally depends not the person!
You can totally work; some wait for sequence two, esp. if they need time to settle. I am working and it's totally fine. A friend of mine works PT as well, as do several others.

Awesome! That's all super helpful information! Happy to hear that working is possible and I will keep an eye out on that portal for my decision!
I appreciate you taking the time to share and I wish you all the best with your nursing career!

Thank you! Good luck to you and y'all! It's worth the wait!

you do not. Financial aid is not a required part of the application since you aren't required to apply for financial aid. However, it is required to be considered for scholarships.
Hi everyone! I just applied for the ABSN program! I applied late in the process, so I'm wondering if I should not expect an answer for a while? I am out of state, so the sooner the better! Also for anyone already in the program, would you say the cohorts are a mix of young college aged people or older people changing careers or does it lean towards one or the other. I graduate from my undergrad in May and wondering if that will help or hurt me that I am fresh out of college.

For the first half of the program you’re mixed with the traditional 4 year students. After that, you branch off from each other. You’ll be perfectly fine fresh out of your first degree. I’d say majority accelerated students are within 3-4 years out of their first degree but there is a good amount who are changing careers in their high 20s, some in their 30s, and a several that are older. We all got along.

Agreed with this person! The friend group I have is aged 22-32; people definitely get a long and there are all types of folks in the program.
