New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Well all of us did :)

Part of me was hoping that the ones who got the e-mail were chosen out of the many who had gone to the meet and greet, but now I don't think that's the case lol

one can hope!! We should all be positive and hopeful. We will keep each other posted as the process rolls out. From what I've read, there's no set time line and predictable way of being chosen. I'm also a bit confused about this AMN and nurse residency thing. Are they 2 different opportunities or is it one thing? :unsure::unsure::unsure:

I believe they are 2 separate opportunities and that AMN is through an outside agency. Yes, we should definitely keep each other posted. I'm sure everyone is anxious and hoping for any type of updates. I can say that I know of 1 person who received a phone call and offer already. I can't say which unit though because then I would out myself lol. I can say it is not one of the most sought after units and she has a connection with the hospital, so that may be why she got an offer so soon.

Did anyone get an email today post interviewing event selecting them as a top new grad? Attached was a link to a secondary application to fill out. I was wondering if anyone knew was starting nurses there make?

I also got this email, however, I have not interviewed with NYP yet. My interview is tomorrow morning so I was confused as well to why I got this secondary application. There was a meet and greet on the 20th? Was it a big event with a lot of people? I just got invited to an interview with two units tomorrow. Anyone else in the same boat?

That's so weird. They must have more than one New Grad Meet and Greet Event then... What hospital is yours at? Did they say it's the new grad event or are yours just like private interviews on the unit? Yes, it was a big event with interviews scheduled all day almost.

I think they must have more than one meet and greet event. It is at the Columbia University Medical Center, I don't think they are private interviews on the unit. When you went to the meet and greet, how many units did you interview with? Or were you able to go around to different units and talk to various nurse managers? Which units did you interview for? That's exciting! I hope you hear back soon!

i think they are having meet and greets at each campus. The one at Weill Cornell took place 1/20/16. We were told 125 new grads were selected to attend that one. The set up was a huge room where the PCDs sat with their specialty sign in front of them. We walked in at our scheduled interview time and sat with our assigned pcd for our interview. Some interviewed with 2 PCDs others interviewed with 2

pcds and a rep from talent acquisitions.
