I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
Hi!
I've had the same experience as most of you thus far. I received the e-mail as a top candidate and asked to skip the Career Event and come for the In-Person Interview June 9th. I interviewed with the PICU & ED Directors and felt as though it went really well!
I wish the e-mail sent out today was a bit more clear with the details of their hiring process. Let me know if anyone receives any updates from HR and I will do the same! I feel like it was a generic message sent to all the candidates and hopefully we will hear more updates in the upcoming months...
For the interview I was led to believe I was interviewing for the specific floor because they mentioned what specialty each of the nurse managers I was meeting was in (i.e. Cardiology Tele @ Columbia) but it turned out to just be a general interview for the whole system. But you do get to mention where you would like to be. I said Cardiology/Critical Care/anything.
I don't exactly understand the point of sending the e-mail unless it meant they further cut down the 150 people and to just let certain people know they are still being considered?
If I hear of anything else I'll let you all know!
And kdacayo, the interviews I had (idk if it will be the same) were held in a room of approximately 20 small square tables and a nurse manager sitting in each one. I met with two nurse managers, each for 20 minutes, moving from one table to another, and then left. The recruiters were friendly in the waiting room and helped us relax a little bit. Good luck!
Hello,
I will be going tomorrow to NYP/Weill Cornell for two interviews. The email said it was for Neurology ICU and Pediatric ICU. From what I have been reading on this thread, we are not being interviewed for these specific units, but more for the whole system? Good luck to everyone who has already gone and those who go this week!

Hi All,
I just got my email as well and interview June 9th for Surgical Stepdown and Med/Surg. Based on my research both of the managers I'm interviewing with work at Columbia so I'm assuming that's where they are looking to hire for those floors. The interview time slots are only 20 minutes...seems short no? Congrats on everyone getting an interview!
