Question for Farmingdale Nursing Students

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi everyone. I got layed off from my job 2 weeks ago and originally my plan was to work and apply to next Septembers nursing program, but I am now applying for this September at Farmingdale (I've been a student there for the last 2 years). I scheduled my NLN RN but there was only one seat left and it was for today (I registered like a week ago) Everything happened extremely last minute and I barely had anytime to prepare and I got a composite score of 83 on the NLN. I know that is pretty bad...I currently have a 4.0 average which may help me but I dont know. Would anyone mind telling me their composite score on the nln and grade point average and if they got in or not, just so I could judge whether or not I have a chance or not...which I dont think I do. :crying2:

Made a mistake sorry....my composite score is 121

Hey, i'm currently in the program now...I got a 91 or 92 on the test...i forgot what my composite score was...the average test grade among the people i ask who are in the program with me is above a 90...i got a 91/92 and didnt find out till june 1st...so be patient...my close friend got a 86 and didnt find out till august....some people decide to forgo farmingdale for other schools like suffolk and nassua since they are cheaper...hopefully you get in...

Congrats on being in the program!!!! How is it? What is the first semester like, is it as hard as everyone says it is? Are the instructors nice? Did you start clinicals yet, if so what are they like? SOrry for the overload of questions I am just so excited and I pray I get in!

Hey,thanks... i really like the program...it is hard to some degree...it can be very stressful at time..but as long as you keep up with the readings and practice your skills you should be fine...some instructors are nice, some are okay...but all are very helpful most of the time....you start clinicals the second week of school...clinical are the best part of school...is were you learn everything..

Anyone in the LPN program?

What time do the classes start am and end pm?

Thanks.

Has anyone received a response yet for Fall?

Hi everyone! I just found out that I got into Farmingdale about two weeks ago. I got a 133 composite (93%) on NLNPAXRN and English - B, Psych B+, API A, and APII B+. Stony Brook didn't accept me into their two-year program and I am still waiting on Suffolk. I do not know what to do because I really just want to know where I will be going so I can figure out childcare/schedule. Suffolk takes forever! Have a 3.6 for those 4 classes Suffolk looks at and was told that wouldn't be high enough by other people who have applied in past and were rejected, but who knows! Anyone that knows people in both programs have any advice if it comes down to having to make a decision between Farmingdale and Suffolk? I go to Suffolk now and live VERY close to campus, but I guess I am hoping if I go to Farmingdale I can somehow find a way if I am doing well to get a BSN since I have all lower level gen ed requirements. Does anyone know if this is even possible?
