Montefiore- Interview Process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi all. Was hoping someone could help describe the interview process to me at Montefiore. I am a new graduate, and have an interview with HR this week. Do they hire right on the spot after the interview with HR? Also, if I am hired, I'm curious about what the orientation process is like for new graduates. Any help/advice/comments would be great! Thanks :)

I'll look up that agency, thank you! And nope, I'm not, heh. Nothing in my username pertains to my real name. :) I'm Chinese, although I was raised in the Philippines (so no Mandarin/Cantonese points for me.)

I've submitted my documents to an agency but they haven't contacted me back regarding anything so far... Maybe I should try another one?

Not sure if anyone is still reading this but I was hired by Montefiore and I actually have my orientation tomorrow. Yes, their hiring process is very slow. I submitted an application in September. Didn't hear anything until late October. During the interview with the department manager he said I was hired and to follow-up with HR. Well, HR didn't get back to me until December! During the HR interview I was given the math calc exam. Was not very hard. Just don't be nervous and take your time. Then I had to wait another 3 weeks because of some union law that they had to post a position for 3 weeks internally before they give it to me (I wanted days so we compromised for a 12pm to 12:30 am shift). I was hired Christmas Eve. So I applied in September and start Feb. I have two years experience is cardiac step-down and I have a BSN and in the process of obtaining my FNP.

I still read this ! ha ha.

Congratulations. I'm still kinda bummed that I have yet to get ONE INTERVIEW at any hospital. I've currently between nursing homes/agencies because those are the only places that are willing to take me at the moment. I do volunteer at Monte tho. Maybe that will help ??

Side note: I have some family members that work for Monte and I doubt that they official offer was delayed because of some union law. I believe it was due to the fact that Monte was on a hiring freeze for the 4th quarter of last year. They are just starting to post positions, and cancelled a majority of the positions I had applied to in September....*sigh*.

I'm still hoping for the best. Let know how orientation is.

Congrats again! :)

hey RNjobseekerNYbred...I'm in the same boat here. Which agency or nursing home is hiring new grad?

I am not sure where you live but I came from White Plains Hospital in Westchester. They hire new grads but those with BSNs only. I was precepting one new grad after another in my previous floor from August to December. You can get lucky and even get days.

Hey flowers123 ! Advanced Care Staffing in Brooklyn is hiring RNs with limited (

And us2uk4u, I live in the Bronx. I'm willing to travel/relocate. I' ve applied to White Plain Hospital before. Should I follow up with the HR department?

Keep applying online and follow-up with HR. They actually do call you back. Not sure what your salary expectations are but do keep in mind that they pay new grads only $32 an hour and it's not union.

Congrats. And there is def union law that they must post position internally for a period of time... Monte is NYSNA (union).. (And 1199).

Hi, I kind of in the same boat. Could you give me more information about the exclusive staffing agency at [email protected]

Specializes in emergency room.

I will be taking the Montefiore ER exam, do anyone have any idea how that is? I already took the basic RN exam?

Thanks

Hello! I submitted my resume online and got an email back the next day for a HireVue digital interview.....Do you know what this means? Is this to see if I'm a match for the hospital? If so, do you know what kind of questions they ask?

Additionally, I heard they montefiore pays less than $30/hr for RNs, is that true?

hey i have a quick question!! which tests did you take besides a med math test?

Also did you do the HireVue interview or was it only in person? I submitted my resume and was emailed back the next day with a link to do a hireVue digital interview online, i don't know what that means...

How much do they pay per hour? I heard its less than hospitals in manhattan
