Montefiore- Interview Process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi all. Was hoping someone could help describe the interview process to me at Montefiore. I am a new graduate, and have an interview with HR this week. Do they hire right on the spot after the interview with HR? Also, if I am hired, I'm curious about what the orientation process is like for new graduates. Any help/advice/comments would be great! Thanks :)

Hi nicki6702, any chance you could message me the recruiters name? I'm not interested in post partum, would like to see if they are hiring med surg in the near future. Thanks :)

Has anyone been interviewed by the nurse manager first? If so, can you share your experience please.

Hey MommyRN15, Montefiore posted Med surg jobs on June 3rd, June 6th, and at the end of last week, Check them out !

idani, I have a friend who interviewed with NM first. It was a panel interview. Afterwards she said they called her and told her she basically was hired, but they had to wait for HR to post an opening. She interviewed next with HR (very basic questions since she was already practically hired) and had the pharm exam.

I have been under consideration for over a week as well for a few positions. I hope to get a call soon *crosses fingers*...I've become extremely discouraged with the job market in NYC and hoping my luck turns around

I got an email from Monte's NM last week. I replied by saying at NM's earliest convenience. I haven't heard from her since. Should I send follow-up email? Is this normal? I am a new grad......they wanted to interview me for ER position....

Wow, ER position is great. Do you have experience as a volunteer or externship or something?

At which campus are you being considered ?

Thank you lpark!

I don't have any ER background but I love fast-faced environment and children.

So I have an interview with HR and they said it was an exploratory one. I was told I'm not going to take the pharm exam (yet?). But from what I've gathered, most of the people already take it when meeting HR. What does this mean?

Exploratory interview means HR will meet with you to see if you are a match for the hospital and what your interests are. Then if HR has interest in you as a candidate they will send your resume to the nurse manager of whatever unit they think you may be a match for. The time between an HR interview and one with nurse manager may be several months depending on openings on the unit and also if the nurse manager is interested in the resume and feedback HR provides.
