I went to La Guardia about 5 yrs ago...the program was difficult to get into then...however they we they worked the gpa was like this....if they had 80 seats and there were 200 applicants, they would start with the highest gpa and choose their 80 students so i would assume to get in your gpa if possible would have to be a 4.0 to guarantee you getting in...be aware that not everyone who gets in has a great gpa...mine was 3.0 and I got in....we had a huge class ...by the end of the last semester our class was very very small

In any event try to maintain good grades in all classes..and you should be ok...

good luck

Wow, too bad this isn't a few years ago. So you had a 3.0..which is a nice solid GPA..but I'm still wondering, with so many people applying and the high competition..how did ya do it? How did they let you in? Did you have something else that helped? :)

3.0 now will not cut it...wish it did though :-) Going into the Nursing Office with a key-course average of 3.0 gets you a blank stare from the secretary.

I just graduated from La Guardia. I never really understood how it went lol but my overall GPA was 3.8 when I was accepted into the program. However, keep in mind that there is also a waiting list if you don't get in. My friend was on the waiting list and eventually got in and her overall GPA was a 3.79 I believe. The confusing part is how the GPA of the four key-courses is integrated; just make sure you get all A's in them (Anatomy and Physiology 1, Foundations of Chemistry, Psychology, and English) because a B in any one of those classes is chancing it.
