Adelphi nursing program

U.S.A. New York

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I am looking for any reviews people have on the BSN program at Adelphi, either the PATH program or the regular BSN. I'm strongly considering this school because its close to home. Do you feel like the program has prepared you well for a career in nursing? Also was the workload manageable?

Thank you!

I applied for the basic BSN program at Adelphi for Fall 2016, but I haven't heard back from them yet since I just took the TEAS a week ago. I know a few nurses that graduated from there and loved the program. They also had no problem finding local jobs after graduation. I would also love to hear what others have to say.

That is reassuring to hear, especially about the job placement. Do you know if the pre-requisites for the basic BSN are the same for the accelerated program? I hope you hear back soon!

I'm not sure about the pre-requisites. If you visit or call the admissions office they will give you all the information you need. Good luck!

I just recently got accepted to the nursing program at adelphi. They're making me take a few prerequisites before I can start the upper level nursing courses. Although, I must say registering for class was a pain because every class kept getting filled up.

RubyC - How long after your application was complete did Adelphi accept you into their program? I will also have to take some prerequisites there if I get in so I hope by the time I find out there are still openings! May I ask what your GPA and TEAS scores were?

I'm a member of phi betta kappa in my college and being part of it various colleges email me about their colleges and programs. I got an email from an adelphi, saying if i applied I would've gotten an accelerated 4 week decision, which I did. My teas was a 77 and Gpa was 3.8

There should be openings, when you do get in. Also, what prerequisites do you have left?

Thanks for your response. I just took the TEAS last week so that is what is holding up an admissions decision. I have about a 3.7/3.8 combined GPA from the three schools I've attended, and I got 95.3% on the TEAS, so hopefully I have a chance! Off the top of my head, I know I have to take genetics, organic chemistry, and possibly statistics (if they don't accept my AP credit). I hope to hear back from them within a few weeks! Good luck in your nursing education!

Yea, your in the same boat as me with the prerequisites. Although, you don't need organic chemistry. We still have 3 years before graduating.

They told me I needed organic or their chemistry class which is inorganic and organic combined. I already took inorganic so idk what I'll have to do. I applied to other programs as well, 2 of which I would graduate from in only 2 years so I'm kinda hoping I get into those. Adelphi looks amazing though!

Specializes in PSYCH.

Hey I just graduated in December 2015 from Adelphi. I LOVE them!!!

Background: I have a previous baccalaureate degree. I did not do the accelerated program, I did the regular bsn program as a "transfer" student.

Program: they are big on ATI, so the TEAS exam is only the beginning. The professors I had were AMAZING!! Of course there was that one or two that wasn't as good as the rest, but overall good professors. After each nursing course, theres a proctored computerized ati exam (fundamentals, pharm, psych, etc). Honestly I hated ATI until my last semester, it was just so unpredictable. The workload is definitely manageable and nursing students ahead of you are always willing to help with tips. I graduated magna cum Laude.

At the end you are given this ATI comprehensive exam that's supposed to be an NCLEX predictor (chances of passing nclex if you sat for it that day), I got a 91%. So basically if that day I took the nclex, I had a 91 percent chance of passing. Then when you graduate there's a mandatory 3 day ATI comprehensive review for the NCLEX. I used the skills I learned from the review and purchased the Kaplan Qbank (NOT THE ENTIRE COURSE, just the question bank) to study for the boards.

passed the boards in Feb, first try, with 87 questions.

As for feeling prepared in my career, I'll keep y'all posted, I start in May.

Anymore questions, ask or pm me.
