New York Nclex Licensure Application - from philippines

Hello guys! How r u? Do u guys have any idea how to apply in the state of NY as an RN?

CGFNS CVS stuff really confuses me... And Does CVS requires IELTS or any english proficiency program? any advised and step by step guide applying in NY would be much appreciated... Oh by the way i passed the nclex in the state of california... and now it's expired... lol...

Silverdragon102 Thanks. I already took a risk on applying in Nevada. My back up plan is to apply in New York. However, the CGFNS is different, meaning I need to spend and start all over again if I decided to apply in New York. Any suggestions?

@Silverdragon102 For the online courses, should I need to complete them first before I can apply OR can I apply first then complete the online courses while waiting for the process to be done? Thanks

You should complete them first since you have to print the certificate of completion and send it along with Form 1.

I have a question. For the first name in Form 1, my 2 given names doesn't fit the allotted boxes. Can I write outside of the box? Like for example, [sarah Jess]ica? [] represents the boxes. Thanks!

hi bryanb_2003ph, i just wonder what happen to your ny application, did u get att? have u taken the nclex? im applying to ny still waiting for cvs to submit to ny.

TO bryanb_2003ph, you posted this last year and not sure you still are active here or follow the events. But based from your posting, you already passed the NCLEX-RN in CA, your NCLEX results do not expire under certain situations, but I think you do NOT have to re-take the NCLEX-RN again.

Back to the present: If you plan to work and practice in CA, if you are able to provide the CA BRN with a valid work authorized SS#, they will issue you the actual license. If you are going to NY, then yea, you need to go thru all the steps as a first-time applicant as an international student and have the NCLEX results go to the NY BON.

Your situation is different than others who passed the NCLEX-RN in another state then trying to endorse into CA. You already passed in CA (probably before the strict Nov. 2011 enforcement date) so you're all good, good luck.

Hi everyone! Can someone help me about my situation?

I am currently residing here in CA. Here's the thing, I studied Nursing in the Philippines and graduated in year 2011. I applied for the NCLEX exam here in CA but my application was denied for the following reasons:

1. Not all aspects of your theory and clinical training meet the requirements in Med-Surg and OB.

2. theory and clinical practice shall be concurrent in geriatrics, MS, Psychiatric, Pedia.

So I figured out that they want me to study nursing again but heck, I don't want to do that. I don't wanna spend a lot of money just to study nursing again. Currently, I am working as a medical coder. Yes, I am happy and satisfied with the job that I have now but I don't want to give up on becoming a licensed nurse here in US. That is why I am planning to apply in New York State.

Can someone give me the detailed info on how to apply in NY? Yes, I checked their website and was about to apply for the CGFNS but I still want to assure that I am doing the right thing. So I saw this site and have read the comments above. I'm confused. What is child abuse and infection control course? When and how do i take that? and how long does it take for the cgfns application to be processed and forwarded to NY education dept?

I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you so much!

CVS takes approx 6-8 months before passed to NY bon. Child abuse can be done online and if you check out the NY website you should find links to doing it

Oh i see elsy. Im also a bit worried. Im still waiting for my husband's petition in Cali and im now considering taking the LVN route. I just dont know at the moment if I could take it here in the Philippines while I am waiting
