New York NCLEX: CVS I need help! :(

World Registration

Published

Hi there!

I am Jen. I am a nurse / have a license in the Philippines.

I am a green card holder (permanent resident.)

I've been here in NY for 1 month+ and I have finished the 2 courseworks as mandated.

Now, I am getting ready for CVS.

I have my electronic/online application @ CGFNS for CVS.

I'm really confused now, please help me with the following:

1. Can I use a debit card with VISA (though they said credit card)?

2. Is it faster when you don't have a local license in the Philippines since CGFNS doesn't have to coordinate with PRC (licensing authority which they said is slow)?

3. Can I deny my local license since I am an immigrant (they said there's no need)?

4. Do I have to send a "hard copy" of my electronic application and get it "notarized" then mail it to CGFNS?

Thank you!

Do not lie on your application forum, if you have a license in the Philippines then you must declare it. CVS gets all your documentation. Process on average is 6 months depending on how timely CGFNS sends out the paperwork and the paperwork is returned to them

as per CGFNS cvs link

[h=2]From your CGFNS Connect account, download and submit the following personalized documents.

In order to begin this verification, CGFNS must first receive a completed application from the applicant and full payment of the application fee. CGFNS does not, and cannot, begin the verification until it has received all the required materials forming a completed application. A completed application requires the completion of the following three forms:

Authorization for Verification of Academic Records/Transcripts

Authorization for Validation of Licensure/Registration

Signed notarized attestation

thank you!

also, how to perform international money order? through what? I'm sorry, it may sound ignorant of me but I just want to make sure that I'll do the right thing. I have a debit/checking/savings account from Chase. How can I pay online? I don't have time to go out of my way to get a bank check since I'm stuck at work for 2 weeks straight. I don't want to waste time, so I want to pay online (no credit card).

THANKS! :)

others, please help me with questions number 1 & 4.

PS: The electronic copy of my application (CVS) says "for your records only". I'm confused since there's a part which says I don't have to send a hard copy of the electronic application, on the other hand, there's a part which says "must submit with notarization. :(

HI Jen! I also applied in New York last year so I can help you with the application process. I believe you can use you debit card to pay for the CVS. Regarding your question #4 you have to send a hard copy of your cvs application with notarization together with the authorization for verification of academic record forms and the authorization for validation of license forms back to cgfns.

great! thank you :D
