federal antitrust authorities raised no red flags with a pending deal for lenox hill hospital to join the north shore-lij health system, clearing the path for the transaction to close. boards of both hospitals voted tuesday to finalize the deal.
lenox hill turned to deep-pocketed north shore-lij to stabilize its finances. in return, the long island-based chain will now have its first hospital in the competitive manhattan market. the addition of lenox hill expands its coverage area beyond long island, queens and staten island. north shore-lij is already the largest system in new york state and the ninth-largest employer as well. it employs more than 38,000 people.

my thoughts precisely! i still have my hopes up, still applying there and at other hospitals... don't even know what to think anymore. maybe my resume is all wrong, i may not stand out enough. it is extremely discouraging not being able to find a job. can't get experience if no one allows you to practice nursing!

i honestly love this thread: https://allnurses.com/nursing-career-advice/great-news-i-534778.html
i revamped my resume, tailored my cover letter to the position and hospital that i was applying for, and then i let my tenacity take over. sure, i annoyed some of the dons, but i didn't care. got the job in the specialty i love.
I am so sorry you are going through such a frustrating time. I totally went through it too. You have to be persistent keep on pushing. WRite thank you notes constantly, keep on following up. Let them know of your flexibility, even if it is a part time position to start with. Be open minded! you will get there! I am sure of it! BSN is major!!! get certified in ACLS and other certifications. Anything that interests you. keep updating your resume!
Good Luck!!!!:smokin:
There are a number of different start dates for orientation, so I wouldnt worry about that. I'm pretty sure there are many different start dates throughout the year. I wanted to start in April so I had a choice of 2 different start dates. I went to an open house in March, was interviewed, and they contacted me within 2 days. I was surprised at how quickly it all happened. I do have a BSN, I dont know if maybe that helped. I'm starting orientation this month. If I were you, I would check on the Northshore LIJ website events page, it will show if there are any open houses in the near future, and then you can just attend one, bringing your resume with you. IMHO, you just can't beat face-to-face interaction. I feel as though you have a far better chance that way, as opposed to applying online. Good Luck
I'm a new grad. This was my first interview. I kind of just went to the open house upon suggestion by a friend, and ended up having an interview. It all happened very quickly. My friend who works in Cornell said they were hiring on her floor also, and I debated applying there, but there was something I liked about Lenox, so I accepted.

Hi! Do you know of any upcoming open houses there? Thank you in advance.

a bsn, 2 nursing internships, volunteer work and no job with lenox hill?? that doesn't seem fair. look out for the er/icu fellowship programs at the end of next month.
i sent the nurse recruiter an e-mail about their fellowship program and apparently she was too busy to respond, so she forwarded the e-mail to her assistant, who couldn't spell for poop. so glad i was hired elsewhere.....
