This is a stupid question, but was does "PM" mean?? A lot of people put that on here and I have no clue what it means....Also, How do you e-mail people?? To get a hold of Suzanne, I have to have 15 posts to threads to be able to e-mail her....? Is that correct??? I just joined today, So i am trying to learn the ins & outs of this. Thank you! :typing

Not a stupid question. PM = Private message. You are also correct until you have 15 posts you can send neither pm or email's

Also, Has anyone done the ncsbn online learning extension???? I dont know if I should purchase that or only do Suzanne's plan???? Any ideas??

It would be awsome if some of us 2nd and 3rd time test takers started a thread for people who have failed and need encouragement. We should also give information on what did'nt work the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time and what adjustments we are implementing know. It would also be helpful if some of us could formulate study groups in our areas. However I've noticed that this website does not allow you to give out personal info, which tharwts the idea of formulating a study group in specific areas.

Ideally if taking the exam because you failed would be better to approach this as a new exam with new way of study. That is what I did

Kward, welcome to the family....this is a great place for advice, support, whatever. I have been a member only a couple of weeks but being on here has really helped me to turn my attitude around and get refocused to try again....I failed twice. Keep your chin up, take some time for yourself and try a different strategy. You might check out Suzannes plan. And a lot of people use Saunders for content & Kaplan for strategies. We all feel like you, you are not the only one. Good luck...:icon_hug: :D

Malenursesrock - thanks for the advice. I have a plan in place, after I got over feeling sorry for myself. I am going with a different strategy to study. Giving up is not an option at this point....even though after you fail the test and feel like you've been slammed to the ground, you want to. I can't give up, I just have to try something new. Thank you again.:D

Texcal - let us know when you get your results. I used Saunders 3rd edition because it's what I had for school. I also did the online course on the ncsbn website. This time I have purchased the 4th edition Saunders, and Kaplan. I am going to start Suzannes plan and will follow it faithfully. Good luck on your results...I'll say a prayer!!:icon_hug:

Kward - I did the ncsbn online course. I didn't pass, but the course was ok. Content is in outline form which I didn't like, but they have a lot of good questions with rationals and I spent a lot of time on those. I am going to use Suzannes plan this time. good luck

I see some mention about Kaplan.... It was a manditory review class upon graduation for me.. I just graduated in May, and tested last week. I did not pass. I also am aware as of now there are 5 of my classmates that only relied on Kaplan and did not pass the first time

I was very disappointed about this.. When I was reviewing test after test with Kaplan, I found myself doing well. Some of the information was assumed that you just knew it, and other information came with nursing school.

However, after sitting for the exam and getting my results.. looking back I don't belive Kaplan was the best prep refrence.

After several recommendation I went out today and bought Saunders and Nclex RN review Top 10 most tricky questions.. Not sure what others may have heard?

Keep the faith.... I wish you luck for the next time..

Dragonfly - Sorry you didn't pass...I bought Saunders as well, but the 4th edition. I studied with the 3rd edition before and did the ncsbn online course. I got kaplan just for strategies, but I'm planning on doing Suzannes plan using Saunders. Good luck to you next time....we'll get this done!!!!

Can anyone tell me how to contact Suzanne4?? I am interested in contacting her for her plan. I will appreciate any help.

Suzanne's plan is no longer available on the site and to access the pm or email system you need to have 15 or more posts. We do ask that posts are useful to the forums and any posts deemed posted just to boost post count will be deleted
