Hi There:

I hurt for you, but you have come to the right place for help and support!! Many of our members have used "Suzanne's" plan. I did not use her plan but it gets rave reviews, and she seems to be passionate about helping people. Remember much of the time, it's not that you don't know the answer to the question, its that you don't know what the questions is asking. I'll be thinking of you!! You can do it.:redbeathe

:rolleyes: I appreciate your encouragement. I have seen Suzannes plan several times as I was reading. I found some info on it & will give it a try. Don't really know what else to do. Last time I did the online review on ncsbn website and used my Saunder's book & cd. I need to purchase the 4th edition, mine is 3rd....maybe Kaplan too. Anyway, thanks!!

Hi new user, don't know if I can at all help you, I am in the same boat as you. I just took mine july 2nd, and assume I didn't pass. Waiting for my fail letter and re-application form. But one thing I do know is that Suzanne's plan is very helpful and has allowed me to gain the confidence of using one resource and that is the Saunders book. It is very resourceful, has all the conent necessary to pass.

the 4th edition is the one I would get. 100 questions a day after gaining all the content you need...good luck. This site is also the best. I gained so much from the random fact throwing. And so many ahve passed off of that thread....:redbeathe

I've found the randon fact throwing thread to be very helpful. I've had to look through old class notes to find facts to contribute, thereby causing me to study as well as helping others. :heartbeat I also am reading from Lippincott's Nclex-RN reveiw and the Drexel DVD's. So far I have not yet taken the boards but am feeling more and more prepared. Yeah, right. Anyhow, I will be wishing you lots of luck.:D I've heard it is a difficult test. Even our staff CNS failed the boards twice before passing. Of course that was a few years ago.:nuke:

I agree with everyone on Suzanne's plan, I am currently doing her 1st tip and almost done (yayyy)....but I would not recommend Kaplan...just use the random facts thread like Melinurse recommended and the Saunder's most newest edition and you will do fine. I am retesting in a few months myself. I wish you all the best. Check out Suzanne's plan. :)

The Saunders book is a great source of information. I think it really helps

I took the exam last wed using kaplan strategies..Did you have problem with kaplan?can you share your experience with me?thanks and goodluck..

I personally did not take Kaplan because I didn't have the money. From what I hear from all of my friends, Kaplan assumes that you know the content and that you only need a quick review. I borrowed my friend's course book and it was very concise and didn't explain disease process which I feel is important to know rather than just memorizing facts, signs and symtoms, etc. Saunder's was a more comprehensive/detailed review. I bought the Kaplan Strategy Book that they sell in stores, but didn't even use it on the day of my exam. I didn't even think about those strategies.

If I can give you any advice, please review content first or your weak areas. I started doing questions and felt it was pointless if I didn't know the content. You're not going to know everything, but do as much as you can. I feel if you're comfortable w/ content and just need to practice answering questions and brush up on critical thinking skills, take Kaplan. Otherwise, use Saunder's and Suzanne's Plan is probably best from what I hear. Good luck to you! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

thank you very much. I purchased Kaplan book & Saunders. I am gonna start Suzannes plan in the next couple of weeks. Just need some time to clear my head. I appreciate the advice & if I run into anything I don't understand, I will definately post!! This site is the best place for support....just sorry I didn't find it sooner..:icon_hug:

Just to clear up some misconceptions, for the first tip of my program, there is no mention of 100 questions per day, that is not even possible for some if they have to read the chapter.

Just follow the instructions as they are posted, and do not make any additions or subtractions to it.

Best of luck to you on your exam.

Ive heard a lot wonderful feedbacks about Suzanne's plan. I will also use it. I hope this time I'll make it.
