New TEAS V Science Section

Nursing Students TEAS

Has anyone taken the latest version, the TEAS V? My test is coming up April 6. I have the ATI version V study guide, and the McGraw Hill book.

What should I be sure to study when it comes to the latest version of the test?

Thank you all for your responses... I was/am (LOL) in a slight state of panic after taking that last practice test. I thought I was doing so well until I basically failed. I did fine on reading and Math, but totally failed the science and English. I'm just going to keep on studying... especially chemistry. It's amazing how much you can forget all the pre-req classes that were taken 3 years ago! Good luck to those of you taking the test soon (my test is June 20th), and congrats to those of you that passed! :-)

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of finishing my undergrad and then applying for Direct Entry as well. I am getting my undergrad in Molecular and Cell Biology. My concern however is that I am torn between taking the GREs vs TEAS. I find it so frustrating that for some schools GRE is required (while some waive GRE if gpa above a 3.2) and others require a TEAS examination. I guess I am going to have to do both next year in order to apply. But has anyone taken both of exams and could provide us with an explanation as to how the tests are different and what they are focused on (especially the TEAS)

Thanks a lot.

who as taken the teas v the most recent? what did you find most difficult on the science section. i am suppose to take my test in 2 weeks and im freaking out about the science section i took a few classes but right out of high school and that was 4 years ago and do not remember anything. can anyone helpe me? please

I purchased the ATI TEAS V study guide. It helped SOME, but believe me, I studied all kinds of things as I was able to take it twice. I bombed this section both times. My advice, study the other 3 sections really well, & read thru the Science section & do what you can. As long as you really know the other 3, you should do fine. Good luck.

I just registered for the teas test, I'll be taking it on July 19th. Hopefully I will pass it this time, for the science section the book is too confusing for me so what I do is study my notes from general biology, and A&P. I would really recomend to study from your notes if you still have them.

Good luck to both of us:)!

I agree with the one above. I need at least a 90% in all sections, preferably math and overall

can it be done? I am taking summer school right now then I have about a 2.5 week period to study and take the TEAS V before fall starts.

I have two chances to get AT LEAST 90% for this application period.

Please help me!!! I took the TEAS test and did not do so great. I was woundering if knew prep class that could help me with Teas test. I live near Santa Clarita. My school does not offer a prep class. I'm taking the version five test.

The only thing that might help you is the ATI study guide. You can order that from ATI's website.

Hello,

I found this when I was studying for the TEAS V and it helped me focus on certain areas -

http://www.trctc.commnet.edu/Div_StudentServices/admissions/documents/TEAS-Vsummarypacket.pdf

Starting on page 2 it breaks down each section with a list of topics you should familiarize yourself with, and trust me they are dead on! The ATI studyguide does go into detail but there you should use your A&P textbook to elaborate on the details. Like most people said already, the science section is the most screwy. It goes from high school bio to college chem and a&p. Math is OK, just brush up on algebra. Reading was pretty basic, (types of writing, themes, topics, main ideas,) English & Language use can be tricky - cover topics like subject-verb agreement questions, complex and simple sentences. Sounds easy but after the science section I was a little flustered!!

Definitely get the guide!! Good luck you'll be fine! :)

Has anyone taken a prep course in the LA area? I looked online and could only find LSAT and GRE prep courses. I took the test earlier this month, the science portion killed me! I need help!!

I took the teas on 8/11, after only studying for 9 days. I got a 78 on it, which is in the 87th percentile. I am not happy with this score so I am going to take it again on 9/15. I studied the ati manual and purchased practice test form a. I did well on every part of the test except the reading. I know how to read..so it just doesn't make sense to me. Now I don't really know how to study for the test because there aren't enough practice problems and I have already memorized the ones I previously studied. Hopefully, I will get at least an 80 this time..I need to be in the 90th percentile

Thank you for posting this. I'm going to read up in detail on the subjects they provide.
