New TEAS V Science Section

Published

Has anyone taken the latest version, the TEAS V? My test is coming up April 6. I have the ATI version V study guide, and the McGraw Hill book.

What should I be sure to study when it comes to the latest version of the test?

Nicole8584,

Thank you. I am getting the practice tests this time. Do you remember the topics you had in the reading section?

Where did you take the exam?

Thank you again!

JZ12,

I took the test at Cal State Sacramento in the very beginning of August.

The reading section had several parts where you read a story or whatnot and answered 7 or 8 questions about it - the format and kinds of questions were similar to those asked on the practice tests. The other questions were also similar- I don't remember being surprised by the types of questions or kinds of sources they drew them from - like the phone-book ads ect. As far as the reading section goes, I thought it was similar to the practice tests.

How did your 1st attempt go?

nicole8584,

I did pass, except for the reading section. I did not make it for 3 points. In the University I am applying, the student has to pass all sections, and is a good score up to 80. Anyway I am going to take it again. The school I am applying takes the best scores. My GPA is very good, but I have to have a better score in the teas exam to know for sure I will be in. The reading section is challenging, because English is my second language, but not impossible to pass. I am getting the practice test this time. My reading topics were hibernation, marketing, and other two topics I don't remember. What were your topics? I believe that if I read, and I am familiar with the topics, it will make it easier to pass with a high score.

Thank you for replying.

You can totally do it :) As for the topics, I'm sorry- I really couldn't tell you; I haven't thought about them since taking the test 2 months ago. I think you will do better the more you practice the reading section, regardless of the topic. :)

nicole8584,

Thank you, I understand. I will do my best practicing and studying for all the sections, my Lord will do the rest. God bless you!

just took it today. I believe if you study the science in the study guide and purchase the practice tests, you should do alright. I was surprised at how LOW my English and Reading scores were. I didn't even study the TEAS IV, and received 90 or better on the English and Reading sections. On the TEAS V, I was getting low 70s.

I think you can get a good deal if you buy it on the ATI website with the practice tests as a packaged deal. If you look online at places like Amazon, Half or Alibris..even eBay, you will find people are selling it for more than what it cost on the ATI website.

did anyone ever answer this question? i'm wondering the same thing...

did anyone take teas v twice? was it harder so was it the same exact test?

did anyone answer this yet??? i am wondering the same thing...

I took the teas on 8/11, after only studying for 9 days. I got a 78 on it, which is in the 87th percentile. I am not happy with this score so I am going to take it again on 9/15. I studied the ati manual and purchased practice test form a. I did well on every part of the test except the reading. I know how to read..so it just doesn't make sense to me. Now I don't really know how to study for the test because there aren't enough practice problems and I have already memorized the ones I previously studied. Hopefully, I will get at least an 80 this time..I need to be in the 90th percentile

hi... when you retook the exam was it the EXACT same test as the first attempt? orrr did they change it up and give you a completely NEW exam? orrr did they just use the same questions in a different order? i think i'd like to retake my exam too... i passed, but im not happy with my score... thanks!

So , I am a 3rd time TEAS taker...I took TEAS 3.0 and did well (decided not to go to school) took 4.0 thinking since I did it before I can do it again......missed passing by just a few questions :( Now studing for 5.0 and FREAKING OUT!!! It seems 100% more difficult than the other tests! Hoping that the study guide is just more intense, but the test won't be so bad? Any advice is appreciated :)`
