Hi :) I am an RN starting in Dec 2014 for the BSN program anyone else starting?? I have 40 credits I have to complete and hoping to do so in one year if this is possible! Wanted to start this thread for DEC students or any students thank you!

I've started looking into the tasks as well as a few of you here. I do have a question that I can't seem to figure out though.

does anyone know what the DRF or GRT that need to show up on task stream?

hopefully this may help other new students as well.

thank you.

I know what those are not sure what your question is asking?

What is a GRT? What is a DRF? I've been enrolled in the online BSN program for the past six months and have not encountered these abbreviations.

I think I figured it out. GRT1 is the Biochemistry course abbreviation. I DRT I have still to find out. I will ask my mentor this week when I speak to her. thanks for trying to help me

Hello Ericad85, I woould like to know how does evaluate you transfering prerequisites?

They take a lot of courses even old ones. I would apply and have your transcripts evaluated there's no obligation and you can find application waiver codes online.

5ofakind you have to send all official transcripts to the school and they will look at each class and let you know which classes are covered by your previous classes. They will send you an email letting you know their results.

Thanx for that information im new to this and trying to find the easiest route to receive a BSN. I am a current CNA, married and have five boys. So, I would appreciate any tips or suggestions that anyone has. I have four prereqs left before I can apply and I am full aware that this is going to be a stressful journey. However, I am ready for the challenge.

So you are looking at going through their Pre Licensing BSN since you are a CNA.

Pre licensing has a total different requirement. You do need an Associate of Bachelor in a non nursing field along with the science classes or have all the courses for the degree completed. Plus there are other requirements to put together your nursing packet.

Being a CNA is going to be a plus for you because they prefer students who are already in a medical field and CNA is a big one because they have you do a Bootcamp with CNA skills. It will be easy for you. For you it is the pre licensing because you are not an RN.

Here is the website for you to see what they require.

The pre licensing doesn't start each month like the RN to BSN. They have cohorts at various hospitals with dates during the year. So you can ask which cohort will be closest to you and set yourself a goal for the deadline date to apply.

I'm sorry Shondaj, maybe I shoul've been more specific... My plans are to finish my prereq at the community college I am enrolled in and the apply for a RN program which would take 20 months to complete. After that I would like to continue my RN-BSN with . I've heard you can complete thhe BSN at your own pace. May I ask are you a RN or in the nursing field?

Ok, I went to the website and read about the pre licensure BSN. I was a little confused now its seems a little more understandable.
