New to the site & looking ur suggestion

Hi all,

I am new to the site, Always love to spend time networking with nurses. My name is Jenifer and I am a staff in a Government hospital in INDIA. Here I will be looking your help. My main intension to come to UK and work in UK hospital..B4 that I will be looking for some tips and guidelines which could easy for me to go for further getting awareness.

Let me put the scenario in this way. My husband is working in IBM organization as a senior software Test analyst. If he needs to improve his knowledge in software tools...In IBM Intranet they have lots of tools, methodologies, functions, etc..Along with that their are some .avi .wma, .movi files which presents the online tutorial functionalities for the learners.

Here my Question is similar to that as a staff nurse wanted to learn more about the medical functionalities, methodologies, clients handling, awarness programm, etc....which has been followed in UK & US. So where I can find those information's. Kindly provide me the URL / LINK or the location of the website.

Note : - Basically I will be looking for a presentation kind of stuff instead of reading a book type reading.(ie I will be looking for a .avi or .mvi , or .wma files location.) . Why especially looking this kind of stuff it's good and easy to understand the methodologies.

Can u please guide me where I can get that?

To work in the UK you must meet the requirements set down by the NMC http://www.nmc-uk.org/aFrameDisplay.aspx?DocumentID=633 you then have to get onto a 20 day protected learning course with a credited university http://www.nmc-uk.org/aFramedisplay.aspx?documentID=1320 then you need to arrange work permit

Books which may help with termanology and UK ways of nursing is The Royal Marsden Hospital Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures Sixth Edition

Thanks for ur quick reply. As per ur mail can u tell me where I can get The Royal Marsden Hospital Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures Sixth Edition since I am in INDIA. Can u tell me the path or link where I can get the path of this Sixth edition.

If you can get amazon online it is in there under nursing or if you have access to a good bookstore who orders internationally they should be able to get it for you

The book is not available on line to be downloaded. It needs to be purchased.
